Upcoming events:

Monday, June 24th, 9pm - Midnight: Ben Seretan
Ben Seretan is a Brooklyn-based drone musician focused on joy. He plays electric guitar, sings, and makes "long music" in the attempt to find heaven with delay pedals. When he gets there, he'll seek out John Fahey and Alice Coltrane so they can bliss out together forever. His recording New Song came out in November of 2012 and he regularly plays in NYC.

Monday, July 8th, 9pm - Midnight: Chris Forsyth and the Solar Motel Band
Prolific underground guitarist Chris Forsyth will visit Airborne Event with his crack squad of psychonauts known as The Solar Motel Band: guitarist Paul Thomas Sukeena, drummer Steve Urgo, and Peter Kerlin on bass. Their record is coming this October on the Paradise of Bachelors label. Tune in for a night of cosmic Americana and staring at the moon.

Monday, July 29th, 9pm - Midnight: The Wingdale Community Singers
The Wingdale Community Singers is where core trio Rick Moody (author of The Ice Storm and essay collection On Celestial Music), singer Hannah Marcus, and guitarist/composer David Grubbs bring deep Brooklyn harmonies and old time folk moves to life. They'll come to WFMU on July 29th to share tunes including pieces from their third record, Night, Sleep, Death.

Monday, August 12th, 9pm - Midnight: Broadcloth
Broadcloth is a chamber trio consisting of vocalist Anne Rhodes, cellist Nathan Bontrager, and accordionist Adam Matlock. The trio improvises and plays from nontraditional scores including graphic scores hand-embroidered by Anne. All of the members also work closely in other groups, including various projects with composer Anthony Braxton.

Monday, September 9th, 9pm - Midnight: The Chapin Sisters
Tune in when musical sisters Lily and Abigail Chapin, daughters of the musical Chapin family, visit Airborne Event. On their latest record, A Date With The Everly Brothers, they transpose the boys' harmonies across time and gender. They've also been touring as part of the band She & Him. They'll come to WFMU armed with guitar and banjo to share their music on September 9th.
