You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Listener comments!

  Mon. 2/7/11 9:02pm Rachel Malheure:

After so long depending on the archive I finally made it back again to the live session! cheers*
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:09pm Dan B:

@Rachel, cheers! Welcome back.
Mon. 2/7/11 9:20pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Dan and all the listeners.
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:24pm Rachel Malheure:

Ever heard of Gareth Dickson? Found some interesting guitar pieces on 'The Dance' - this made me just think of it ...in a way...
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:26pm fleep:

It veers toward Windham Hillishness but seems a tad more interesting.
Mon. 2/7/11 9:30pm Richard from Venezuela:

what a beautiful guitar song.
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:32pm Dan B:

This is by far one of the most accessible pieces by Steffen Basho-Junghans, who usually explores all kinds of alternate sounds that the guitar can create in long, arrhythmic improvisations. Which are also gorgeous...but I think this one's a tribute to his inspiration Robbie Basho and Basho's East-meets-West ragas.
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:34pm slugluv1313:

oh wow -- beautiful Steffen Basho-Junghans piece -- and definitely gotta get my hands on some Ghédalia Tazartès too!!!
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:45pm Seminal:

hello all
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:48pm Rick:

I've never heard a Kevin Ayers cover, WOW!
  Mon. 2/7/11 9:54pm Rick:

Rick @ Rachel: a couple of years ago, I saw Gareth accompany Vashtee Bunyan in a rare NYC performance, wonderful. My sister thinks his solo stuff is like Nick Drake (in a good way!)
Mon. 2/7/11 10:42pm Noel in DC:

Hi, Dan. Great show as usual.
Mon. 2/7/11 10:48pm Noel in DC:

A throat singing workshop in my town? Swellegant!
  Mon. 2/7/11 10:49pm Rick:

That voice-freeing seminar sounds like Lexie Mountain territory!
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:05pm Rick:

Gamelan Rock is never a bad thing,
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:05pm autodidactic:

I am happy.
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:06pm Dan B:

Yay! Me too happy!
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:09pm autodidactic:

I mean not just just happy, but aware and grateful for being happy. Remind me of this when the marathon starts.
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:16pm Rick:

Sway by Seefeel was aptly titled
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:26pm Rick:

It sounded, just briefly, like we were in for some more Gamelan Rock.
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:33pm Dan B:

@Rick, I'll have to look into that....
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:50pm Rick:

I love the distortions inherent to the fringes of an fm radio signal. Its were I live and tracks like this are like artwork for my radio and home.
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:51pm autodidactic:

Earlier this evening I was going to listen to music from my collection, but I'm glad I chose to listen to some from yours instead.
  Mon. 2/7/11 11:52pm ?:

what is this?
  Wed. 2/9/11 2:27am Yair Yona:

great show today.
melodi melodika is originally a Tv Resistori - also a Fonal band. the original song is a happier/dancier/poppier version. Isalaja did a brilliant job but do check the original 2004 version
