|
Sun. 12/13/09 6:45am
Looms:
Hi Bas! I experienced them in 2006 as they opened for C93. Don't eat much before the gig because the bass is REALLY loud and could damage your digestion.

Rachel Malheure:
impressing interpretation of the disco-wish! kind of transcendental invers fullfill - pleasing as always! greetz rachel (waiting for the day, where I can't solve this math question anymore...)

Bas, NL:
@Looms: Hi Looms! Ohh, that would have been a great night! OM &C93 ;)!!! And good tip, thanks! I suppose that it's somewhere similar in experience as a Sunn O))) gig? (I got about blasted against the back wall.. people were running for cover!)
|
Sun. 12/13/09 6:57am
Bas, NL:
Throbbing Gristle did produce some great cheesy disco!
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:01am
Dan B:
Can someone suggest a classic, great, typical disco hit that I can play backwards?
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:02am
Looms:
@Bas The attitude is very different from Sunn O)))'s but the humming must be quite similar. Ben Chasny was there too, he gave us a wonderful psych-indus folk set (with wunderful auto-sampled walls of voices and noise in the background, if you see what i mean). It was quite short though for he had to come back and play with C93. It was a great concert... (Nantes, April 9th 2006)

Wow - Eidnaolb was my first thought when you asked about a backward disco song :-)
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:20am

|

Thanks! to come up with my own Om story, I was lucky enough to attend the show documented as OM's Live in Jerusalem; the guys played for six hours straight in the tiny space in Uganda for a room packed with 60 people - it was OUT OF THIS WORLD.
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:25am
Looms:
@zax Amazing, when was that?
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:26am

Two years ago to the week... So much was happening dugring... After however long Al was in tears, weeping. and at another point he shook hands with every single person in the audience. and Chris was just so accurate and massive....

Looms:
@zax: lucky you! @DanB: the next step is a remake of Saturday Night Fever with John Lydon in the main role!
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:37am
Dan B:
Maybe John Lydon's teeth could be in the main role, in bellbottoms. I'd pay $11 to see that.
|
Sun. 12/13/09 7:38am
Looms:
Agreed | |
|
Sun. 12/13/09 8:02am

I agree,Looms. We should see more of these failed missile tests. If only.
|
Sun. 12/13/09 8:31am
Dan B:
It looks like their missile opened a door into the next world...I wonder if they were expecting that
|
Sun. 12/13/09 8:35am
texas scott:
All missiles should open that door and go through it. Never to return.

Sun. 12/13/09 8:38am

|
Sun. 12/13/09 8:54am
Dan B:
Thanks Looms, that's right. Great albums both. This CD-R he sent as a gift to the station predates both - it's from 2001 - very nice to hear actual alternate versions of some of the songs that later appeared on Angels of Light albums

Looms:
My favourite track of AOL, if there is one, can be found on Gira's "solo works at home" cdr (god's servant). You're right, alternate material is sometimes rejoicing Thanks for the broadcast!
