You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

I first heard this Circle track on your show a few months ago. It's great.
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:11pm Marmalade kitty:

evening Mr Bodah!
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 9:12pm Dan B:

Hey PB, MK! Yes, PB, that was a live version from a recent live Circle album (name escapes me at moment). This is the studio version -- I like it better actually.
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:12pm Marmalade kitty:

this song has no end
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 9:12pm Dan B:

Oh and of course it's an Eno track natch
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:16pm Andrew Waterloo:

I think that's the first time I've heard that version of the Circle track
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:17pm penelope & co:

The Airborne Event will save your life.
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:35pm PB:

I don't know about saving your life, but certainly enhancing it.

This is shaping up to be one heck of a night :)
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:44pm Andrew Waterloo:

  Mon. 7/9/12 9:51pm richard:

That Hollie Cook = best DUB I've heard on FMU in years, Thanks Dan! plus it's on Spotify...
Mon. 7/9/12 9:52pm Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Dan and all the listeners.
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:52pm Tom L:

@richard Totally agree. This Hollie Cook is perfection.
  Mon. 7/9/12 9:59pm PB:

Is Prince Fatty related to King Tubby?
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:09pm 12539:

Do not let my silence up to this point fool you into thinking that I am not greatly enjoying this program.
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 10:10pm Dan B:

Prince Fatty = King Tubby's heir
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 10:10pm Dan B:

@12539, duly noted -- thanks!
Mon. 7/9/12 10:11pm Richard from Venezuela:

Very good jazz track.
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:13pm PB:

I was out walking my dog when you played the Hollie Cook tune so apologies if you already mentioned this, but I take it Hollie Cook is Paul Cook's daughter.
Mon. 7/9/12 10:15pm Richard from Venezuela:

Operatic Cumbia!!
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:17pm Julie:

Mon. 7/9/12 10:38pm Richard from Venezuela:

Their website will be up at bombayrickey.com shortly and songs will be up for download/purchase there. They are also working on a record right now, so look forward to that.
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:45pm 12539:

"Pachanga," no?
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 10:51pm Dan B:

@12539, thx for the catch, I corrected that
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:56pm Scuttle:

So awesome.
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:58pm 12539:

This is all so good. Now I want to go to a bar and order a Bombay Rickey, whatever it is.
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:58pm doca:

this last song reminded me of those early calexico recordings.
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:58pm dave:

"pilgrim" just became the soundtrack for my imaginary abstract spaghetti western set in the empty post-housing-bubble suburbs of vegas, "a fistful of qatsi".
  Mon. 7/9/12 10:58pm Tom M:

Hi Dan, Jeff, Kamala and crew from the hood!
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 11:00pm Dan B:

It all sounds like the soundtrack for a summer-long pachanga with lots of crazy fights, sandy hair, drunken laughter, and roast goat that melts in the mouth.
Mon. 7/9/12 11:05pm Ian in Katonah:

Very Much Me like!
  Mon. 7/9/12 11:44pm dave:

man, everything i hear from that pauline oliveros box i love, especially since it presents such a radically different side of her work than the drony accordion stuff you hear elsewhere (which is also awesome).
Avatar Mon. 7/9/12 11:49pm Dan B:

It's pretty incredible that they issued 12 CDs of this material from only a 9-year period. It allows you to hear her working along particular techniques and themes in a way that it very illuminating of what she later did with the Deep Listening materials.
  Mon. 7/9/12 11:50pm Ike:

  Mon. 7/9/12 11:58pm 12539:

Thanks Dan (and guests).
  Mon. 7/9/12 11:58pm Marmalade kitty:

Great show Dan!
