hello Dan, Richard and all the good ones. Umm, that Lonnie Hollie track was incredible.

Hi Destroit. Nadja's track sounds good.

Dan B:
Hey Destroit, yes, the Lonnie Holley record is unbelievable through and through. I think someone here at WFMU is working on having him play here. Can't get the record out of my head lately! |

Mon. 12/17/12 9:51pm
Andrew Waterloo:
For some reason the Nadja made me think of the Boris and Ian Astbury EP
|
Mon. 12/17/12 9:59pm
Destroit:
You had me at "deep ambient textural music". Lonnie in studio would be spectacular. I haven't heard anything that good in quite some time.

Ah... it's the Children... ;} Not the best choice, but still... it is the most offensive...

Dan B:
@AN, there was some debate here about what was the "best choice" from the Children album -- that one seemed to be the consensus on this end. Mmmmm...burnt raver...crispy. |

I must say DB, wonderful transition from the near-death track to the biker period.

@MK, heya -- we decorated the tree at my in-laws' place two nights ago and it was awesome -- loads of old civil-rights-era political buttons mixed with decorations from Mexican, Africa, the Midwest, etc. The tree at my house went up tonight in my absence, but I will enjoy it when I get home. @ADM, thank you! Always nice to be recognized for doing something right. |

Kirsten is a nice addition, I'm enjoying live more than album, and I like the album a lot. These guys are always better live though... regardless of the band they're in.

@AN, wasn't Kirsten on the album too? She's listed in the credits. But yes, this group definitely gets to something live that is unique and distinct from the record, which I also loved. |

AN:
Never heard Kirsten play live with the boys before tho... sorry, that was the point. Tired, not being clear... Seen/heard multiple versions of Jim and Phil and John playing together. Always enjoyed. Like the 3 live with the addition of Kirsten... and the album sounds different than the live. Not familiar with Kirsten's work other than on Trees...

@AN, ah, that makes sense. @amEdeo -- yes yes yes. This material is all from the album Trees, not that it sounds like the album in any particularly close manner. |
