Hello all! Just catching up with playlist now. Monica, glad you dug the Brass Const., I love those guys! I thought that preacher worked well with them too. Van, are the cherry blossoms already done in DC? |

This show provides the req'd religious paperwork, no? Yes. Maybe. "Blue!"

Dan, the Cherry Blossoms were beautiful while they lasted. Also, the Magnolias, in full bloom for the few days they lasted, were awesome. Beauty reigns in the DC area about now. Those with allergies curse the fact. :)

Mike East:
@Dan B. - Very cool. I'm really interested in seeing it myself, but its not in wide release, so my options are limited. May have to wait for DVD. @Van - I seriously contemplated getting tix for the Highline Ballroom show, but decided on a comedy show this weekend instead. I think that venue will be cool for him. The stage is only about a foot high from what I remember, so there's not too much divide between audience and performer. Let me know how it is!

Mike East, I surely will. From what I saw of the place online and from what you said, yes indeed, should be up close and personal intimate. Sounds great to me. :)

The guy was rude on Mac's show and some harsh words were spoken. It's good he apologisied. I think he was a good geust but I doubt if Mac will have him back.

Dan B:
@Rick, came out of left field for me, but I guess it's good he apologized. He was very unclear about what his role in the whole fiasco was, and I hadn't heard about it, so it was weird. |

@Tom, yep, havent had a chance to listen yet. @dave, idn't that awesome? @SD, at the risk of revealing my total naivety, who originally did Colored Rain? |
|
Mon. 4/9/12 10:14pm
12539:
Traffic's original "Coloured Rain" was with a "u," I believe. Did the Animals drop the "u?"

@12539, yep dropped the "u" to go with the American spelling. @Tom L -- something new from Hallock Hill cued up. |

Damn, I am just not seeing a reasonable way to break this set before the top of the hour. Does anyone really mind? I think there's at least 30 mins more music cued up that fits together perfectly right now. |

Ah, there's Shri Camel - one of my all-time desert island discs. All played live solo on Yamaha organs in quarter-tone tuning btw.

Mon. 4/9/12 11:20pm
Dan B:
@Tom, yes, definitely a desert-island disc, especially because it makes time fall apart. I just got a copy -- was surprised to find it was released on CBS and so it sells for under $10 new as a "Super Saver" CD -- remember those?! |

major labels certainly run the gambit of availability. From not available at all, to outrageously priced, and then super saver in the misc bin.

Sparks are too funny! I used to have their record "INDISCREET' with them in suburbia after a dreadful but non life-threatening plane crash.

@Tom Miller: There's no name index yet for any but a few states; 1940 was released a week ago today. To find anyone you need to know what street s/he was on and the nearest cross street. That info lets you find which enumeration district to look through. Most ED's are 20 to 50 pages, 40 names or so a page...
