Dan B:
Together in infinite shade, they defy the invincible dawn; The line that never was made, the measure that never was drawn.
|
Sun. 3/28/10 7:21am
Dan B:
Or the measure that never was made and the line that never was drawn...something like that.

It's weird to hear JMJ again, this is the only thing my dad had on his reel to reel player so I used to listen to it loads when I was about 10. Still sounds great!

Bas, NL:
He,he.. JMJ stopped me cleaning that old synthesizer here... What a brilliant track.
|

Dan B:
@Andy/S - I used to hear a lot of Tangerine Dream back in the days...not so much JMJ. But I have a soft spot for all of that stuff.

People like Emeralds are sort of bringing the old synth stuff back in a way. JMJ and Tangerine Dream must've been really popular then cos the other records my dad has are all James Taylor and Rod Stewart! @Tom L I am actually a fully paid up member of the Community now. Well I have the cd anyway.
|
Sun. 3/28/10 7:49am
Tom L:
@andy/s -- Emeralds is brilliant -- Hanson Records has just re-released their fantastic album form last year (self-titled) on CD. I too am a fully active member in TTC. I go to St. John the Divine occasionally and listen on my headphones... @Dan -- very cool about your mother at Woodstock!

Johnny:
Glass Harp is fairly rare, isn't it? Hadn't heard it since like '74. Ohio band?
|
Sun. 3/28/10 8:29am
Johnny again:
The Incredible String Band are gawdz. In the early-to-mid-'80s, as a bartender, I took shit for playin' them on the bar's cassette deck, during the h/c punk/new wave era.
|
Sun. 3/28/10 8:32am
Dan B:
@Johnny, yeah, that Glass Harp is the Ohio band. The records are somewhat rare I guess, but they were all reissued on CD a couple of years back and I think they are still in print or easily available used. Nice playing ISB in the bar, awesome.

Fxo:
we would clear the bar, to close up, when patrons would linger. ISB WAS great, but I would use PIL.
