@dale. mmmm. the mighty WRPI needs a shot in the arm, sadly. Engineering students don't have much free time to be radio DJs, I guess!

Great concept, Dan. Suggestions: Sun Circle 'Lessness'; Rose & Sandy 'Rose & Sandy Play Cat's Cradle'; Xela 'Of the Light and the Stars'; Tom Carter 'Siva-Sakhi'; *AR (Richard Skelton and Autumn Richardson) 'Rise'. I could go on and on.

Way way way back in the day I used to listen to WRPI which we could pick up in western Massachusetts. They had a great format on Sundays--classical in the morning, blues all afternoon, jazz in the evening, progressive and experimental after midnight.

Tom Miller:
This sounds like gagaku on kazoos.
|
Mon. 7/11/11 10:35pm
damien:
i often take long-term ambient sound measurements for my job. the things i hear on the replay! nothing funnier than the sound of a drunken man urinating off his porch at 3 am. howling coyotes are the best, though.

|
Mon. 7/11/11 10:57pm
damien:
@Tom. I assure you, Tom, there are much more qualified weirdos that could offer such advice! (Call the TapeOp guys), My first recommendation: Reverberation measurements at your favorite bar. You will need several large balloons...and 2 beers for every balloon.

Dan B:
I too have a confession. I am not actually DJing at all. I just prerecorded the mic breaks and gave them to Bryce Kretschman, since he is so much better at cueing records and seques and all that professional DJ stuff I could never be bothered with.
|
