Good evening Dan. | |

I presume that is Lou Reed singing but it sure doesn't sound like him. Weird.

@PB, yes, it's Lou. Don't you recognize this voice of his from the Loutallica album Lulu? Kidding... Yeah, these demos are from the 5CD box set Peel Slowly & See. |

DB, I haven't heard that Lou/Metallica album but heard it is awful. What is Lou thinking. I hate Metallica.

say what you want about loutallica, but you've gotta like living in a universe where the same guy can produce 'heroin', 'metal machine music', and 'lulu'.

PB:
@kenzo, I agree. Some of these stripped down demos are amazing. George Harrison's demo of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is great.

I just read a few weeks ago in either Uncut or Mojo that the guy who wrote Wild Thing (Chip Taylor?) is the actor Jon Voight's brother.

wikipedia on Chip Tayor, who indeed wrote of Wild Thing: "He is the brother of actor Jon Voight and geologist Barry Voight. He is the uncle of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven."

Mon. 1/16/12 9:44pm
Bodah, DJ:
I don't think Brian Drain is Brian Brain or a M.A. related project. But the name is basically ungoogleable because (1) google insists on changing the search terms to "Brain Drain" and, if you get past that, (2) there are actually a bunch of Brian Drains out there! |
|
Mon. 1/16/12 9:47pm

All I've found is a txt file from some MIT ftp mirror site (I don't know what I just typed) that seems to be a copyright record. Apparently Brian Drain's real name is Brian Corwin, d/b/a White Wolf Music, and the copyright date for Strafe on the Lane is 1984...
