You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Hi Dan. Tonight The True Wheel threw off a goofy spark for me: that the 'Captain's Table' is actually Beefheart's table. Transitory, but made me smile.
  Mon. 1/24/11 9:22pm Dan B:

Thanks all, sorry if I don't keep up well with comments tonight due to the scramble to keep all 5 CD players and three turntables going and get the computers into the mix....@Rick, I always thought it said "conference table," but don't stop smiling!
  Mon. 1/24/11 9:34pm autodidactic:

  Mon. 1/24/11 10:13pm Cayenne:

Vinyl flashbacks!!
  Mon. 1/24/11 10:18pm heath:

Cayenne so gluing the cartridge made an audio out to a stereo or something?
  Mon. 1/24/11 10:23pm Cayenne:

Yea ripped out of an old realistic TT not much to it passive analog like a mic, power cords are for spinning the platter, some had micro amps. I think we used phone wire to go from cartridge to TT hardware and into the phono input of a receiver ...make all kinds of weird noises by connecting it stuff that vibrates
  Mon. 1/24/11 10:30pm Mike:

Not cool Woody.
  Mon. 1/24/11 10:34pm cosmic matrix:

  Mon. 1/24/11 10:55pm Rudolf Schenker:

@Dan B The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Snowbank confirmed.

  Mon. 1/24/11 11:42pm stib:

Enjoying the show at work here in melbourne Australia. More of The Necks please! I saw them last weekend at the MOFO festival in Tasmania and was converted.
  Mon. 1/24/11 11:43pm Dan B:

@Stib, they are the backing music whenever I speak -- and have been for about 7-8 years
  Mon. 1/24/11 11:53pm fleep:

hearing it backwards inspires me to leave everybody else alone, at a fair distance
  Mon. 1/24/11 11:53pm Dan B:

@Rhys Chatham comments -- glad I'm not the only one who is happy to immerse himself in the waves of Rhys's work...there is something so powerful and moving about his music
  Mon. 1/24/11 11:56pm Quincy Jones:

That's not "Hail Satan" you heard there in backwards lyrics of We Are the (Under) World. Besides, Michael wrote this song, the B side, Grace, is mine. It's a musical palindrome.
  Mon. 1/24/11 11:58pm osvi:
