Dan from Toronto:
Dan, that set was (continues to be) amazing. For anyone else as spellbound as I was by the Yat Kha "Love Will Tear Us Apart" cover, it's freely downloadable at http://www.yat-kha.com/html/what/yat_kha_cd_recovers.php

Dan B:
@AR, too true - I just can't believe people are so convinced that the market leads to innovation when the big commercial stations are playing 20 songs over and over again all day and night. @Dan, thanks for posting the Yat-Kha link! @PB, Pekko Kappi's music on that record is actually old traditional bardic Finnish stuff on an ancient Finnish harp that can be strummed, plucked or bowed.

Dan from Toronto:
Oh except it's 404'd. Too bad... so lovely...

the finns probably originated somewhere in the ural mountains of asia, so that may have something to do with it.
|
Mon. 12/5/11 10:16pm
PB:
@Dan, yeah and 19 of those 20 songs are either by Dead Zeppelin or from Who's Next. Pathetic. Thanks for the explanation of the Pekko Kappi track. Very interesting, never would have guessed.

Jeez, a week has gone by?? It seems like yesterday, that deep voice. Glad to hear you're on the mend. Love the HMR's. At first I thought it was maybe The Fugs, before I looked at the player.
|
Mon. 12/5/11 11:19pm
Dan B:
@Count, thanks, yeah, lots of cross-over over the years between HMR and the Fugs, they really came out of the same East Village stewpot. @Blujacket, ah the west coast! Glad to have you along! @Damien, I sincerely apologize if I impugned your state of consciousness!
