Saturday, May 26th, 6am - 9am: Caitlin Pasko
Songwriters have transformed hardship and suffering into their art for thousands of years. When New York singer-songwriter Caitlin Pasko endured the death of her father and an especially difficult breakup shortly thereafter, she turned this into Glass Period, a six song "meditation on grief". Her piano style is drawn primarily from Satie and Debussy. Combined with her simple and ambiguous lyrics, the result is dreamlike and profound. For her WFMU session, she was joined on synths by Henry Terepka, who had helped Caitlin to produce Glass Period.
