"It was the beginning of a day in June; the deep blue sky unsullied by a cloud, and teeming with brilliant light."

Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 6:37am annie:

what are you reading Lix?
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 6:37am Lixiviated Life:

Dickens
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 6:39am annie:

i wouldn't even try to hesitate a guess as to which piece, ... yeah he sure spoke out..

Pickwick papers
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 6:51am themutante:

Powerful selection of female vocals on these tracks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 6:52am annie:

i like some of orwell's hard-hitting short "novels".
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 6:53am testingwithfire:

Just based on that one track, I'm buying a ticket for the Aldous Harding show in Allston this Wednesday. Pray for me to be able to stay awake till after 9:30. They don't think of old people when they schedule these shows.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 6:56am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hullo. & Thank You.
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 6:59am themutante:

I steal all my good ideas from WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 7:00am annie:

@ twf: i feel the same way, by the time a show starts, i'd rather be back at home sitting in bed with a book. all the fun things i think i want to do fall in favor of the comfy bed and soft light.
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:06am testingwithfire:

@annie: my feelings exactly. I'm booking a B&B in Allston so at least I won't have to schlep all the way back up to the North Shore that night.
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:12am themutante:

That's one creepy musicbox sound. Love it!
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:14am themutante:

I'm Twin Peaks tripping my balls off.

twf: that's the option i'd go for, accompanied by a leisurely breakfast before heading home..
  Sat. 6/3/17 7:25am Cooh John:

I have awoken from my slumber and greet you all. Resonating blissfully to start my day.
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:25am Howard F:

Enjoying the avant-garde excursion. I'm working my way through a challenging crossword, so this is an apt soundtrack.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 7:26am annie:

ahhh, the saturday puzzle? all the more power to you howard...
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:26am Lixiviated Life:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 6/3/17 7:27am Bas NL:

Hi Jeffrey! Ahhh.. just tuned in to see i missed Kleefstra/Bakker/Kleefstra. Fantastic trio. Gots to experience them 'live'.
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:27am Howard F:

@annie: thanks, NW quadrant complete!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 7:33am annie:

that's about the only good thing left in that paper, howard. i still mourn the loss of the FLUP
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:37am Howard F:

Apparently, it's one of the few profitable areas for the NY Times. Not sure I'm famaliar with FLUP?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 7:50am annie:

i'm not even clear on whan the FLUP was discontinued, it was its own header, The Follow-up on the news reported the previous week, covering what might have been buried by other events. we affectionately called it the "flup"... the grey lady ain't what she used to be, that's for sure.
Avatar Sat. 6/3/17 7:53am Howard F:

Ahh, gotcha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 7:56am annie:

yeah, i'm old.. been reading the NYT since i was 12 or so..they had a great celestial events section, too on the same page as the weather map..
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sat. 6/3/17 8:18am annie:

for those of you who like fantasy/science fiction-type stories i suggest "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. it's quite good. apparently the first book in a series.. i can see someone grabbing this up for movie rights..
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 6/3/17 8:20am mb:

Good morning, Jeffery!
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sat. 6/3/17 8:39am Guido from Cologne:
