Ibarra has tremendous range, and has held down the drum chair with flair in groups from John Zorn's Masada and the David S. Ware Quartet to Yo La Tengo and solo performances.

During October, D:O Radio will be going to great lengths to give the drummer some. Today's featured artist is living legend Andrew Cyrille. In a career spanning more than five decades, Cyrille has revealed himself to be perhaps the most sensitive and graceful of free jazz drummers. Three hours is not nearly enough time to do his oeuvre justice, but we'll have a good time trying.
