@doca it's not so bad! :) spoek mathambo does a great cover of joy division's "control", the best version by far is not the youtube one but the one in the wfmu archives

CAR to Kenya, just be careful not to run into the LRA when travelling that route!
  Thu. 11/14/13 6:08am Andrew:

Hi Meghan & matt, doca, elwyn & fred ^_^
You're right, loved that song, good to dance to ^_^

@doca: The Lord's Resistance Army, Joseph Kony's death cult. Much reduced from its peak of terror in Uganda, but still on the run and killing in that part of central Africa.
Avatar Thu. 11/14/13 6:13am fred von helsing:

for some reason, reminds me of Johnny Carson talking about Wild Kingdom. "Hi I'm Marlin Perkins, and I'll be up here in the treehouse mixing martins while Jim gives the rhino an enema".

Avatar    Thu. 11/14/13 6:19am doca:

@Mfs: Uganda's such a wicked place, I saw a report about US fundamentalists financially supporting homophobic groups over there. Sad stuff.

@doca: From Idi Amin forward, Uganda's had many such challenges facing it.

At least today, we can rejoice in the music of its people; the spirit of life!

@Elwyn: Food for tunes...I like that exchange idea!

To those passing through N. VA, the rest of Annandale is mostly a Korean cultural district--if that's your thing, be sure to stop by there.
