Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everyone!
  10:25am zzzm:

hello, chilly morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Jan Turkenburg:

Good morning zzzm!
Avatar 10:26am StringOFperils:

Hello Jan, having a cup of tea, and then I have go out to vote for a politician in a 'by-election' ( a district election ). I would rather stay here in Sheena's Jungle Room and hide behind the ocelot sofa over there next to the picture discs. But...duty calls.
I won't invoke Godwin's Law because I don't want to be a cliché. (thanks and a wink, to ARB).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi StringOFperils. Take care and see you later!
  10:28am zzzm:

tuba bassline swings better, imo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, I think I agree, zzzm :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am Mx. Granny (e/em):

hello, Jan and folx! sounding lively here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Granny! Good morning!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Mx. Granny (e/em):

hey, SOp! if you're not gonna take that ocelot sofa spot, i will!
Avatar 10:33am StringOFperils:

@GrannyST > ocelot sofa spot * heh, I see what you did there....WOW, Jan, I have this Andy Stewart record!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am Jan Turkenburg:

SOP, isn't it great! Makes me happy :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38am Mx. Granny (e/em):

we eat cliches for our pupu platter here in Sheena's!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Mx. Granny (e/em):

Jan! Thank YOU for being such a wonderful contributor to this Mother Ship's adventures!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am Jan Turkenburg:

It is a true pleasure, Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Mx. Granny (e/em):

this is rather kooky!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Rich in Washington:

for goodness sakes, people! Wash your hands before you touch ANYONE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Jan Turkenburg:

:-) Yep, another project of Robert-Jan Stips (Supersister)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Jan Turkenburg:

Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Rich in Washington:

JAN!
Hello!
Hi Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Rich in Washington:

Hi StringOFperils!
Hi zzzm!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Rich in Washington:

It's break out the leather coat weather.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Mx. Granny (e/em):

Rich! Good morning, neighbor in the north!
Avatar 10:53am StringOFperils:

Hi Rich! Take your protein pills and put your helmet on too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am Mx. Granny (e/em):

and by neighbor, i mean time zone and continent?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Mx. Granny (e/em):

i was gonna say, this sounds like Moondog?!??!?! wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Mx. Granny (e/em):

and i am also reminded of Ivor Cutler
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:01am Jan Turkenburg:

I'm not familiar with Ivor Cutler, but googling him i think I should change that.
Avatar 11:03am StringOFperils:

Ivor is an eccentric Scottish poet and artist. Ivor appears as 'Buster Bloodvessel' in the Beatles' film 'Magical Mystery Tour.
Avatar 11:03am Feldpausch:

Giid morning Jan, Rich, Granny, SOp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am Jan Turkenburg:

Also seems I'm not listening to fellow DJ's programs enough, judging by the advanced search machine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am Jan Turkenburg:

Good morning, Feldpausch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Rich in Washington:

Oh wow. Ivor Cutler. You're in for a treat, Jan.
I recommend especially his album with Soprano Linda Hirsch entitled Privilege.
Avatar 11:07am StringOFperils:

Ivor Cutler also appears in a quite a few of other peoples' projects, in addition to his own recordings, and live readings, In London for instance. He's on Robert Wyatt albums.....you probably DO know him, or his voice...
Avatar 11:08am StringOFperils:

*in London....(not a project/recording....a typo)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am Jan Turkenburg:

Now I let the name and info sink in, I must have heard (of) him multiple times.
Avatar 11:12am StringOFperils:

Part of his persona is to be utterly dry and uninteresting. As bland as oat porridge on a grey and rainy day. If you forget him, it probably worked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Rich in Washington:

Right SOp! He's on my favorite Wyatt album Rock Bottom.
Avatar 11:17am StringOFperils:

Great album. Funny, I just listened to Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard, less than 24 hours ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

love that one too, but really, REALLY love Rock Bottom.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

Oh funny. Was just talking about this track with friends over the weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am Jan Turkenburg:

:-) can't play this track enough. I saw that it had only been played three times at Sheena's :-)
Avatar 11:23am StringOFperils:

Yes! G&C!!! Genius! (Rich > I love Rock Bottom too. I have it on vinyl and CD)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Jan Turkenburg:

We must all take good care of our inanimate objects
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

I will bet money that it was spacebrother and me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Jan Turkenburg:

yep and me :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

That whole album is just fantastic. Maybe my favorite G&C album, tied with Freeze Frame.
Avatar 11:24am StringOFperils:

Speaking of inanimate objects.....I really must go out and VOTE for one, right now....................
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Jan Turkenburg:

absolutely agree!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Jan Turkenburg:

You go safe our world, SOP!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

The Gizmotron wailing away in the background. It's a pity THAT inanimate object didn't set the musical world afire, but whatever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

Thanks for voting SOp!
Avatar 11:28am StringOFperils:

**the Gizmotron was improved and revived just a few years ago >
www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Mx. Granny (e/em):

PS: not only is Ivor Cutler Scottish, he's Jewish—which makes for an unusual and fascinating cultural blend of flavors which i find deeply delightful and causes great belly laughs in me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

Yep. It's pretty cool. Not seen one in person, but plenty of demo videos online.
Avatar 11:32am Feldpausch:

Whoa, the Gizmotron is mystifying me. Is it like an ebow?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

I love his Life In A Scotch Sitting Room segments on his various albums, Granny.
Avatar 11:33am Feldpausch:

Oh it actually says in the video comments "It's not 6 ebows"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

Hey Feldspausch! It's almost like a tiny Hurdy Gurdy. It's little motorized wheels which come in contact with the strings.
Avatar 11:34am worldsworstrecords:

hey, all you louder duggin' framers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Mx. Granny (e/em):

Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington: His sly dry style can sneak up on you, then you realize how hilarious—and even kinda naughty!— his odd little tales are
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

Hey, worldsworstrecords! How's things!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Darryl!
  11:34am Martinibomb:

Helloo Everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi MB!
Avatar 11:35am worldsworstrecords:

I'm good Rich/Ruth/Rich ;-) How are you, my friend?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am Mx. Granny (e/em):

Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington: ok, when you describe the Gizmotron as a tiny hurdy gurdy, i want o hear more! I became fascinated with hurdy gurdies at a music camp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

I am doing wonderful! Thanks!
Avatar 11:36am worldsworstrecords:

yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

It's all over G&C's Consequences album. It was sort of a demonstration for it but then blew up into a full concept album (with Peter Cook narrating, no less).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am Mx. Granny (e/em):

ok, i will put that onthe top of the listen list! I think my queerheart has all the G&C. <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

@worldsworstrecords: I dug really deep into my 7" bins for things to play on last week's Singles Going Steady episode of my show and I've found some lovely dreck that I should probably send your way.
Avatar 11:43am worldsworstrecords:

Oh, please do Rich... you know I love it when people introduce me to new rubbish!
Avatar 11:50am worldsworstrecords:

These GIFs are making me which I still owned a Spirograph
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

I had a spirograph! I loved it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Jan Turkenburg:

Me too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Jan Turkenburg:

I even remember those specific patterns
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

I also had a Lincoln Log. And a Lego. Was in my twenties when I learned there were whole sets of them.
Avatar 11:55am worldsworstrecords:

a single piece of lego? YOu poor, hard done by boy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am Jan Turkenburg:

LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

<sadly pushes lone Lego around on tabletop making car noises with mouth>
Avatar 11:57am worldsworstrecords:

hahahahaah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Jan Turkenburg:

hahahahaha
Avatar 12:13pm Feldpausch:

One solitary Lego brick! I'm so sorry, Rich. Have you overcompensated since your realization in your twenties? Do you own castles of Lego?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Otis Fodder:

Morning Jan and fellow framers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Jan Turkenburg:

Morning Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Ruth Is Stranger Than Rich in Washington:

Otis!
Avatar 12:23pm Feldpausch:

güten morgen Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

OH! 'tis Otis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Otis Fodder:

Much sleep and even more coffee makes a Monday a good day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm Jan Turkenburg:

One should always have enough of both
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Otis Fodder:

Barkeep, your finest ale please. Keep playing Ronnie Drew.
Avatar 12:29pm Mr Fab:

Top o’ the morning to ya! I tune in to Sheena’s and ay, ‘tis the sounds of my people. (O’Sheana’s?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Otis Fodder:

...and hello, to the other Jan. Jan & Jan... oh yea!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Soylent Gringa! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Zardoz Fodder:

Hi Soy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Franco Twinkie:

Hiya everybody!
Avatar 12:39pm Mr Fab:

Jan, I’m usually asleep/getting Li’l Fab off to “school” during your shows, so I listen to most of them in the archives, and lately I’ve been listening to the cats and dogs episodes of “Sounds Under 64” with my animal-crazed daughter. No, she doesn’t fully understand the bawdy songs of the “pussycat” genre, heh heh, but thanks for those, we’re enjoying them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Otis Fodder:

Morning Franco, fun zooming with you last week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Otis Fodder:

Oh yes, missed the dogs but caught the cats live. Myself and the 2 cats here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Franco Twinkie:

Oh yeah, likewise Otis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Franco!
Avatar 12:41pm Ursula1000:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm Franco Twinkie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm Sito Reddof:

Soon, again... Granny. Can't wait to zoom live with you. I mentioned to Solo on a Zoom how much I wanted you to join. In time, fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Soylent Gringa:

Who's going to remix the zoom call?
Avatar 12:44pm Mr Fab:

Speaking of archival adventures, Otis, I was listening to the latest “The Torch is Burning” last night- DO tell Constance and Leland how great that episode was. I wasnt reading, I was laffin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Sito Reddof:

Ha Soy, there is a full recording of it I shared on Slack, just ready for the mixin'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Sito Reddof:

I will pass on your message Fab... I know that will blush and proceed to slightly faint. Do not worry, they always walk in rooms of pillows as they faint, ever so slightly at life's everyday platitudes.
Avatar 12:47pm StringOFperils:

I can hardly breathe at that platitude. Next time I'm wearing Chardonnay tanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Sito Reddof:

Jan, animated spiral mantra gifs today are nice. Easy on the eyes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm Naj Grubnekrut:
