Since we chatted about VP Records here and on Twitter my Faceb feed usually has a VP Records ad. I like it but hope it doesn't cost them very much $ since fb ads have zero impact on my buying habits.

Apropos of not much, I don't remember which commenter tipped me off to this, or even which playlist it was, but I'm really enjoying foods from J&H Farm, a Korean-Syrian deli on Prospect Park West in Bklyn. Great packaged ban chan, muhammara, and baba ghanough, and solid homemade kimchi as well.
  8:25pm Celeste:

Marky Ramone still comes from time to time to Argentina
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm Gary:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm WR:

Ike, that sounds like a great deli!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm chresti:

Yerba Mate and Korean-Syrian sounds good.
There's a Syrian deli up the street in Pasadena, Franco brings home pies of different fillings and shapes from there.
Avatar 8:36pm TDK60:

Had to cut off the y. mate, Chresti. Past 8 y'know.
  8:36pm spodiodi:

Celeste: i love the (minimal) footage i've seen of Ramones shows from Latin America -- so much energy from the fans!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36pm Gary:

NO RE-UPS, Chresti!
Avatar 8:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Mate more in the body where coffee is all nerve endings. Not really like ephedra in the lungs but in between.
  8:39pm Celeste:

We are known for being a very enthusiastic public.... I was a fan of the Ramones when I was a teenager too, I realize now it was a cultural thing haha
  8:40pm spodiodi:

enthusiasm is the word! :D

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm Gary:

Celeste, how easy is it to find CDs in Buenos Aires? I have been wanting to go there and find music for so long
  8:41pm spodiodi:

this Las Eras is making "Love will tear us apart" play in my mind
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm Gary:

On purpose, I bet, Spodiodi :)
  8:42pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm Gary:

Yes, new -- and, thank you!
  8:45pm spodiodi:

dig this Fauna
  8:48pm Celeste:

Since mid 2000s when the band "Él Mató a un policía motorizado" became popular there has been an indie movement revolving around the label LAPTRA, you can start from there. And you possibly know Juana Molina, to me the best of Argentina but she is quite famous internationally already
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm Gary:

Yes! love Juana Molina, but have played her so much already ... will definitely look into that label, thank you, Celeste!
  8:51pm Celeste:

you're welcome :)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Gary:

Yes, exactly, Tim
Avatar 9:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I like the balance of tight & raw - often of prime importance in Rawk. Enthusiasm was spoken of earlier!...
Avatar 9:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

....Rawk is an aggressive sort of back & forth thing that split off from Swing - which swings side to side - manner of speaking. A little pinch of swing makes it human...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm coelacanth∅:

it shouldn't surprise me when a song here and there reminds me of something from brasil that i know.
(in this case a Tom Zé song)
Avatar 9:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

"a go go " ~ rage -- hmmm idk
  9:32pm spodiodi:

"'Road rage' appears to have been coined in the USA in the 1980s. "

... vs 1965 title in AR... "Dancing in the streets" maybe? ;) ;)
  9:35pm spodiodi:

and, more importantly, it sounded great (like the rest of the show!)

(Celeste, if you're here, any ideas?)
Avatar 9:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

OK - Brazilian tune about playing soccer - 'Umabamaruma' is not the title but the refrain - & that a poor phonetic mangling - by one of the Tropicalia greats. Anybody help me in my lone madness here?
Avatar 9:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

There is white line fever when you've been driving too long - but the transliteration of road rage is too delicious...
Avatar 9:39pm LambdaCalculus:

"Umabamaruma" was by Jorge Ben.

Avatar 9:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Sh*t. We're lucky the Secret Police don't stick us in an unmarked van.
Avatar 9:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well they're called Redd. Bits of Yes vocally?
Avatar 9:46pm tim abdellah:

The guitarist doesn't sound like Fripp, but the bass has a bit of the John Wetton sound going on.
  9:46pm Celeste:

A go go refers to go go dancers! Is this what you were asking spodiodi?
Avatar 9:47pm tim abdellah:

Oh now he's Fripping out a bit :)

Alright! Fever of the road, the lyrics just speak of being hot and tired from walking on the road, feet burning, but I'm seeing here in the artist's youtube channel that he says the lyrics are inspired by a short story by Algernon Blackwood called The wendigo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm WR:
