Hey, @TDK60; hello, @fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am Jeff Golick:

Hi, @Rami. Welcome. See here: www.classicalmpr.org...
  9:22am Listener Gregory:

Good morning, all. I don't think that cats will enjoy the Leroy Jenkins.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Elijah McClain was one of us - a music nerd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am Jeff Golick:

Possibly not, @Listener Gregory. But that's on them. Hiya.
  9:24am Listener Gregory:

Cats love Roscoe Mitchell, though.
Avatar 9:26am Storkle:

@LG: cool cats do.

Herr @Stork! Welcome!
Avatar 9:30am holland oats:

yo d:o! peeps!
Avatar 9:30am Storkle:

Whoops, I mis-read that as Laura Cantrell!!
  9:31am DJpeterDE:

Does it count as featuring strings if Denis Charles is the driving force of the performance? whooooo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am Jeff Golick:

Wassup, @holland oats!

@Stork: oh so close.

@DJpeterDE: it's a fair point. As it's called "Bangception," I'm gonna say we're ok.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am chresti:

Morning Jeff and listeners OUT there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am Jeff Golick:

Good morning, @chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am doctorjazz:

Hi there, @doctorjazz!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am doctorjazz:

Feel like I'm being strung along.
  9:42am Listener Gregory:

Join the club.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am Jeff Golick:

I get it, @doc. I will try not to resort to violins.
Avatar 9:44am Storkle:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48am doctorjazz:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Adolphe Sax *was* a Scorpio. No surprises...
Avatar 9:52am Storkle:

Tomeka Reid is gigantically beautiful.
Avatar 9:53am Storkle:

And this album with Hawkins is a gem!!
  9:54am DJpeterDE:

This Tomeka Reid is lovely. I don’t know anything about Hawkins. (The piece seems to use some of Ayler’s vocabulary but in a very different context. Dig it)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Jeff Golick:

YUP. I was really glad to see Reid play at Roulette when her group came through.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Jeff Golick:

Hawkins is UK-based. Has done stuff with Moholo-Moholo et al.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am Jeff Golick:

Reid also had a hand in the rediscovery of Abdul Wadud. I wish Doug were here to tell that story, as he also played a part in it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am doctorjazz:

OK,2 links already I need to check out (luckily, I Arrived late and missed the 3rd one...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Really a privilege to just tune into this being presented. Loves D.O Sunday A.M.
  10:03am DJpeterDE:

Green Goddess is totally due for a hipster comeback
Avatar 10:05am TDK60:

Ah it was about Robeson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Jeff Golick:

Thanks so much, @RRN63. I feel it's a privilege to present it, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...WiFis I steal @ home came back on out of nowhere.
Breakfast Diner I used to listen to D.O.@ isn't opening back up. : (
...2nd-hand laptop died with everything I had on it. Streaming thru iPod & tapping on tracFone again...
But it's a lovely summer morning with windows open & the pod plugged into my stereo w/ good speakers & D.O. on.
  10:19am Listener Gregory:

Kang sounding very Scelsi-like.
  10:19am DJpeterDE:

Electronics have their own life cycle, it seems @rrn
  10:20am DJpeterDE:

Does it count as a drone if it’s only 10 minutes long?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

2nd hand ones particularly :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Jeff Golick:

That's quite a set up, @RRN63.

Headphone wearers will want to be careful on this Ortman number.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22am doctorjazz:

Your telling me, Jeff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am doctorjazz:

Switching from "in-ear; to "over-ear", slightly less intense (but only slightly)
Avatar 10:26am holland oats:

this song is nuts - one of the last shows at union pool i'd imagine
Avatar 10:27am TDK60:

Yeh, it was right at the end of Before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Jeff Golick:

I saw her at Union Pool - my first time hearing her music - and was totally blown away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Electric Gittar - just a confluence of - things...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29am doctorjazz:

Must hashes quite an electronic effects set up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Jeff Golick:

She's playing a violin, btw.
Avatar 10:31am holland oats:

theme intact
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Right - suspected I blew It ! : D
Principle the same - strings & electrons...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Jeff Golick:

Until now...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am doctorjazz:

Had a nice 4th, drove out to Asbury Park late afternoon. Streets are closed off for outdoor "COVID-19" dining, went to a Mexican restaurant, done well. Then, after 6 PM, one beach is open to dogs. Ozzie and Maxie had a blast! Fam fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am doctorjazz:

Still stringing us, Jeff (this is lovely!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am Uncle Michael:

This is wonderful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36am Jeff Golick:

Hey-o, it's @Uncle Michael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am doctorjazz:

OK, picked up the Anderson/O'Neil (the other 2 are on hold because they're digital only...still prefer solid media. This one is vinyl!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am doctorjazz:

Thus Alcom/Green track is also terrific.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Ida guessed Frissell. All marvelous.
Avatar 10:48am holland oats:

looove susan alcorn - saw her open for dead c a couple years ago in bkln - i think? was it all just a dream? a beautiful dream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am doctorjazz:

Electric guitar and clarinet have a nice tonal combination. Don't hear it often.
Avatar 10:49am holland oats:

ack that was 2016, definitely a dream!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am doctorjazz:

Greenlief, that is, apologies...
Avatar 10:50am holland oats:

vg+ lolz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Jeff Golick:

I believe I saw Alcorn in Matana Roberts' most recent Coin Coin performance at Roulette, in the Before times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

There's the BitchesBrew oboe - a definitive thing.
  10:51am Listener Gregory:

@holland oats, it was ALL a dream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am doctorjazz:

Hope I can eventually see her live (or anyone else, for that matter).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Just going to a Mexican restaurant sounds like a dream to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am doctorjazz:

It was really nice RR3, masks, gloves, distancing, and all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...in my old age I was *just* getting to being in sort of bands & even playing in front of people.
- Whomp.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am doctorjazz:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am Jeff Golick:

Hi hi hi, @Linda Lee!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am doctorjazz:

Time for coffee. (Can eat soon...still on 16 hour fasts. Think there are some cookies around. There's a healthy way to break fast).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Linda Lee:

i'm off to get dirty & work on my immune system cutting back burdock! ahora!
  11:01am Listener Gregory:

I also like that Pavone album. It is interestingly short.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am ParUbi:

good morning, outizens!
Avatar 11:04am DJpeterDE:

Ooh, I just checked Greenlief's discography and his has a duet album with Joelle Leandre. Anyone heard it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am doctorjazz:

Ah, that's where I knew the Alcorn name, I saw her with Mary Halverson at the Village Vanguard (and on her album).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am Jeff Golick:

Good luck, @Linda Lee. Good to see you!

Hello, @ParUbi! You can have Linda's seat.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Jeff Golick:

Good morning, @coelacanth∅!

@LG: you mean today?
  11:14am Listener Gregory:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @TDK60! Say hi to Gary for me.
  11:15am Dean:

Sad to hear about Fell's death. Too young. (Well, my age.) His large ensemble compositions are amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Jeff Golick:

@LG: I don't think so!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am Jeff Golick:

Hello there, @Dean.

@doc: re oeuvre, it all changed for me when I realized I should say it in the most American way possible and really hit the "ooooh" at the beginning of the word. Try it!
Avatar 11:19am TDK60:

<DJ Gary S. says hi back!<
Avatar 11:19am Storkle:

Thanks for the top-notch promo, JeffG!! 3 hours of the prismatic music of Arthur Blythe - and if you enjoyed the Abdul Wadud in the first hour of D-O - know dear ones that Blythe loved his cellos, and his tubas, and his marimbas, and that there is much Wadud to be construed at the Club du Storkilork a-coming your way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @TDK60; that's sweet.
Avatar 11:20am Storkle:

Sorry. Wadud was in the second hour of D-O. But you knew that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am doctorjazz:

Blythe bands is where I heard Wadud, looking forward to the Blythe show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am Jeff Golick:

And if any folks need directions to the Stork Club, turn here: www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 11:24am Storkle:

Thanks, Jeff! Limited valet parking available. VERY limited. Okay, there's no actual valet parking - besides you should ride your bike here.
Avatar 11:24am DJpeterDE:

Jeff: from Bruce's Fingers Bandcamp, it looks like you can subscribe to everything OR purchase individual CDs (but can't get one album via download stream). did you subscribe/delve into that catalog?
  11:24am Listener Gregory:

Wait, there's no parking for limited valets? That seems unfair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am doctorjazz:

Like that Persuasion A track, I'll post the link (can get it on cassette!)
persuasiona.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Jeff Golick:

Hm, @DJpeterDE: I've definitely purchased individual downloads; not sure if that's changed since, though.
Avatar 11:26am DJpeterDE:

Correction: since the "Frank & Max" album is on a different label, it's not available individually
