Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Rich in Washington:

Hello, Martinibomb! Everybodeez!
  4:01pm Martinibomb:

hasn't started yet tho....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm going to listen in but may not necessarily comment too much. Got a shocking cold at the moment so I'm dosing myself up :-)
  4:02pm Martinibomb:

This is a mix from a guest today so not much talking. I flipped thru it a little and it seemed right up everyone's alley. Still hasn't started yet
  4:03pm Martinibomb:

oooh here it goes yay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The first Flange was 1pm on October 26th, so we're seven months old on May 26th :-)
  4:08pm Martinibomb:

We've almost got this baby to term! YAY time to smoke some cigars soon.
Avatar 4:08pm Mr Fab:

  4:10pm Martinibomb:

@Fab omfg that's super hilarious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

"“I haven’t listened to new music since Yes put out Owner of a Lonely Heart in 1983. Do you think I’m going to be receptive to this new information?”" - HA! ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm joe:

I found the video the other day of ole' Bob telling us the truth once and for all.
Avatar 4:12pm Mr Fab:

This has been great stuff. I mean a belly-dance version of "Popcorn"? Thought i'd heard everything you could do with that standard. What can't you do with "Popcorn"?!
  4:14pm Martinibomb:

I know I wasn't expecting that belly dance version either. Very Nice find from Mr. Hurry Heinz if he ever reads this.
  4:15pm Martinibomb:

I wish he could have recorded this mix with voice over/back announce etc..but he's a great Dj so it's nice to have this play for everyone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thoroughly enjoying it :-)
  4:20pm Martinibomb:

This playlist is huge.. so much stuff to enter
Avatar 4:20pm Mr Fab:

in case anyone's wondering, the beatnik poem was "High School Drag" by Phillipa Fallon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm joe:

This is very cool
  4:21pm Martinibomb:

Thanks fab! I'll update. I was curious about it because I've heard it sampled before
  4:24pm Martinibomb:

I'm just digging this mix so much today. Right up my alley and I assume the rest of the Sheena's crew/listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Big thumbs up from me!
Avatar 4:25pm Mr Fab:

Diggin' the most, MB!
Avatar 4:28pm Mr Fab:

lots of great stuff on that Werner Müller orchestra album.
  4:29pm Martinibomb:

yup some really great picks. He's so great at putting this stuff together.
  4:29pm Martinibomb:

I don't have that Werner album either going to be on thelook out now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

He certainly sets a good mood :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Gonna go listen to the rest from my armchair on the tablet, so will probably not chat any more. Thank you for a fabulous show - really enjoying it so far :-) See you all on Friday! :-)
  4:40pm Martinibomb:

Thanks for Listening Dj Georgy! That's probably the best way to enjoy this fabulous mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar 4:41pm Otis Fodder:

Really great mix here. Please put me down for the deluxe 2-Cassette package on High-Bias tape with the scratch and sniff sticker set and lyric book.
  4:42pm Martinibomb:

@Otis this is my friend who was here last week chatting with us for a little while
Avatar 4:43pm Otis Fodder:

Very nice!
Avatar 4:44pm Otis Fodder:

Tiny bit of crossover here with my personal record collection and then moreover it's all new to the ears. Super!
  4:44pm Martinibomb:

He had an electronic project back in the 90s/2000s which had some releases on Tummy Touch. Band = LaRue I've played them a few times on this show
  4:49pm Martinibomb:

... stepping away from the computer for 5-10mins if anyone messages me.

Missed the first hour, but I'm really into this. Will have to listen to the archive later!
  5:06pm Martinibomb:

Thanks for jumping in Hopey! Yeah the first hour is super amazing you'll LOVE it
Avatar 5:09pm solo mon:

thanks martini! I was going for a stream of consciousness, art film soundtrack feeling. with lots of layers. I love the idea of context and how tone changes depending on whats near what. Oh my god did i just give the dictioary definition of a dj mix? LOL
Avatar 5:10pm solo mon:

Hi Hopey! Hi Otis Hi mr Fab! nice to be chatting w you all!
  5:11pm Martinibomb:

hahah I think you did. that's what we all love about DJing at least i do that context is super interesting
  5:11pm Martinibomb:

@Sol which track is playing right now I kinda lost my place in your giant ass playlist lol
Avatar 5:11pm solo mon:

this right now is leave this lesbian world
  5:12pm Martinibomb:

Oooh cool ! I'm right on it. Superb.. thought I got off
Avatar 5:13pm solo mon:

oh yeah you totally are in synch so far!
Avatar 5:14pm Mr Fab:

it's a lesbian world. We're just living in it.
Avatar 5:17pm solo mon:

Omg Joan La barbara. She is a human dolphin.
  5:17pm Martinibomb:

Yeah!!? what the shiiiiit man Lol
Avatar 5:18pm solo mon:

check out tha album cover "tapesongs" so gooooood. Its like whipped cream herb alpert but covered in reel tapes.
  5:19pm Martinibomb:

Googling it right now!
  5:19pm Martinibomb:

OH YEAH! I've run into this record before just didn't pick it up. Kicking myself now
Avatar 5:21pm solo mon:

I just have the mp3s so i look at google album cover all the time.
  5:22pm Martinibomb:

So thankful for MP3's cause as we all well know you can't own everything but MP3s get you most of the way hahaha
Avatar 5:22pm solo mon:

No shame in the mp3 game
  5:23pm Martinibomb:

I'm feeling sort of anti-vinyl these days if that's possible? I kinda hate the u have to play vinyl or you're not a real Dj vibe. So dumb
  5:25pm Martinibomb:

reminds of the days when people would come up and tell you that vinyl sucked and why don't you play cds hahah
Avatar 5:25pm Mr Fab:

Well, digital files are more practical. But i can't go looking thru dusty racks of digital files.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm joe:

AMEN Martinibomb. I love records but that doesn't the DJ make.
Avatar 5:26pm solo mon:

I love records too. But I cant afford or even locate most of the shit I love.
Avatar 5:27pm solo mon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm joe:

To me it's all about what I hear over here. HOw you produced it does not matter to me.
  5:28pm Martinibomb:

I hope one day people will care more about the music than the format.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm joe:

I think one of the reasons this goes on more now. Is that folks are not as impressed by the how obscure what you like is anymore. So being the first person in town who likes that band doesn't hold as much weight as it used to. So we have to find some other factor to show that we are better than the next guy
Avatar 5:33pm solo mon:

Im gonna turn all your old records into POTATO CHIP BOWLS.
Avatar 5:34pm Mr Fab:

yeah, like i can't wait to see the first 8-track tape DJ.
  5:34pm Martinibomb:

I put it down western existentialism and people wanting things that are authentic in their lives. I think physical media like vinyl is very authentic and real to people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm David D:

Hey there - some fine sounds here!
  5:36pm Martinibomb:

@David! Thanks All due to our special guest today. Solo Mon who is here in the chat room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm David D:

Thanks to you both then!
  5:37pm Martinibomb:

Thanks for listening David and jumping into the chat room. Appreciated!!
Avatar 5:37pm solo mon:

HI! Thanks!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Oh wow, what is THIS?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm David D:

This cover is amazing!
  5:44pm Martinibomb:

I think it must be this Hot Poop song?? @Sol??
  5:45pm Martinibomb:

Must have been that Inner Space track by Agliok and Blubbo?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Rich in Washington:

I think it's from one of those Jean-Pierre Massiera records. I think I have it - the cover of They're Coming To Take Me Away
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm David D:

It was in a German dialect, so I'd think a German title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Rich in Washington:

I am pretty sure I have it on one of those Finders Keepers/Andy Votel comps.
  5:47pm Martinibomb:

that seems right and right now it's Hot Poop playing I hope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm David D:

"Ich glaube, sie holen mich ab" was what they sang, anyhow.
Avatar 5:48pm solo mon:

oh heck sorry i had to help somebody w something
Avatar 5:48pm solo mon:

The german song - inner space.
Avatar 5:49pm solo mon:

inner space is the band name algiok and blubbo is the song name.
  5:51pm Martinibomb:

Ah ok got that wrong updating it now. Thanks!
Avatar 5:52pm solo mon:

its a single- the other side is great too "the Kamera song"
Avatar 5:52pm solo mon:

Its a pre Can thing if you can b live that
  5:53pm Martinibomb:
