Avatar 3:06pm Wild Neil:

Peace all. The Clientele are kinda cool! Reminds me of The Shins +Echo and the Bunnyman and a little Cat Stevens
  3:07pm Laura L:

Thanks for the new Clientele, as always--any chance getting them into the WFMU studio when in town for the 11/5 Bell House performance?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm northguineahills:

I can hear that, Wild Neil.
  3:09pm wfmu listener phillip:

whos with me!!!. i think irwin and ken should have their own one hour show together
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Irwin:

Thx for the reminder, LL. Planned to drop AMcL a note.
Avatar 3:10pm Undead83:

Avatar 3:11pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Carmichael:

Heya Neil, I assume you are still employed ...
  3:13pm wfmu listener phillip:

@glenn i usually dont eat it unless it can be fried in a pan
Avatar 3:13pm Wild Neil:

Oh yeah! The meeting was no big deal. Thank you! Still burning stuff for a living.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm jkeigh:

Give the wolf to the local Chinese restaurant and then order the pepper steak a few days later

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Michele:

I think it is November 5th
Avatar 3:22pm Hoboken Jack:

Was just corresponding with Kyle, and told him "What Would I Say" sounded like 70s AM Gold to my ears.
  3:22pm Laura L:

November 5, Clientele, Bell House--get A McL if you can, it would be great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Irwin:

Kyle's entire album is one should-be hit after another.
  3:34pm Laura L:

Best Prine song ever, don't ya think?
Avatar 3:34pm Wild Neil:

I always heard ABOUT John Prine, but never HEARD HIM. He's pretty awesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm jkeigh:

I only have the self-titled. Never heard this one before
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Alison Porchnik:

Yeah but this song always makes me thing of Mephisto shoes. And what are these sins, anyway?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Irwin:

This is prime Prine.
Avatar 3:38pm glenn:

sam stone's pretty good, if overplayed. also angel from montgomery.
Avatar 3:43pm Wild Neil:

I saw Sun Ra at Maxwells, they played Elephants on Parade from Dubmbo. Kinda interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Jess:

I'm partial to Far From Me. I saw John Prine introduce it once and he said "You get one good song out of every marriage. From a divorce you might get two."
  3:51pm Brendan:

Stranger in the Alps- is this song title a reference to this from the Big Lebowski? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LCcKBcZzGdA
Avatar 3:53pm glenn:

huh. larry king should be a hell of a songwriter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm rsj:

Avatar 4:09pm glenn:

Avatar 4:12pm Hoboken Jack:

Hi Bronwyn! Enjoy Sparks! My phone was just telling me to watch their new video.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm BronwynB:

hi jack! thanks!!! you should watch it, your phone is right :)
Avatar 4:19pm βrian:

Oh, those city folks and their antics!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Irwin:

Glenn: Joe uses sampled loops from various artists. He uses Can a lot, but I have no idea whose riffs he's sampling in this show.
Avatar 4:32pm βrian:

Sounds like DJ Shadow to me.
Avatar 4:35pm βrian:

From Dark Days, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Irwin:

I have one word for you, cat: Bratislava.
  5:39pm cat:

i always liked Koussevitzky a little better
Avatar 5:44pm Brian Cat:

Really liked Karen Segal. What label is that. Don't care for John Zorn, although he is an excellent player. I find him to be too harmonic for my interests. You always play the greatest Jazz. Your efforts are appreciated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm coelacanth∅:

this sounded like the gates of delirium on relayer, before.
Avatar 5:46pm Brian Cat:

@Monica: Hey didn't you fill-in for Shiela the other week? I couldn't find the archive. There are so many. Don't forget mazel tov, which means good luck for those who don't know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm coelacanth∅:

(or, maybe not. maybe "sound chaser"...same album)
  5:52pm jan:

I found it hard to listen to Zorn's music over the years...the sounds like those of the cuts just played were always lush and interesting to hear for a very brief moment. he often cribs other music in the postmodern tradition, but the effort ended up sounding to my ears as poor arrangements that grated.
Avatar 5:52pm Monica:

thx for today program, irwin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Aaron Working In Newark:

Thanks Irwin... great show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Michael 98145:
