That misuse of "No problem" enrages me too.
Avatar 11:34am Juke Joint Jonny:

No prob, Gaylord!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am Matt in Nebraska:

I've always interpreted "no problem" as a variation on the Spanish "no problema". I don't think it's a big deal. IMHO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am Gaylord Fields:

Yeah, my bad, Jonny.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:35am Listener Baby:

Baby, how do you feel about the newish term, "No worries"??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am dale:

michael, watch this guys teardown of the kitchenaid mixer when you get a chance. you'll see why it costs what it costs.

Avatar 11:36am Juke Joint Jonny:

If it every happens that the fashionable construction becomes "So, no problem" I'm going postal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am melinda:

Is 'you're welcome' also inappropriate? @Matt I don't think it's a big deal either, maybe it depends on tone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am melinda:

Agree, love Let Her Dance.
Avatar 11:38am Michael Shelley:

you're welcome is perfect
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:38am Frank Above:

Indeed one of the best songs ever.
  11:38am Christina Don't:

I concur, Michael! One of my favorites :D
  11:39am clarke:

MS - you DO realize you just used "no problem" in the blender story?? i think "no problem" has morphed into the new "you're welcome" maybe?? perhaps your issue with the waiter was the way it was said not the way it was used???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Gaylord Fields:

Whenever I DJ out, I find that "Let Her Dance" is a guaranteed floorpacker!
  11:41am nickrhombi:

morning all. loved the db's. - feeling you on the 'no problem'. - i have a little issue with, 'have a good one'. always sounds a little... suggestive. but i too had a good customer service experience recently with an american indoor antenna company. really helpful troubleshooting and at the end they sent me a replacement amplifier free of charge. - and i too was fortunate to be able to write a review in my own words instead of enduring the indignity of 'the multiple choice'. more options do not mean more choices. - mornign all!~
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Matt in Nebraska:

After reading Miriam's BF4 book, it seemed Randy Fuller had a bit of a inferiority complex to his brother but he can hold his head high for the "Let Her Dance" bass line. That's more than most of us accomplish in a lifetime.
Avatar 11:43am Marc Francis:

Twist & shout!
  11:46am clarke:

Alvino Ray!!!!!!! (lawrence welk's pedal steel player)
  11:46am Just Saying:

Not everybody likes Buddy...

Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:48am Frank Above:

I think "you're welcome" has become considered too formal, and "no problem" has become the more casual equivalent response. At least for me. I know that when I worked in service, I used "you're welcome" but tend to use "no problem" in more familiar settings.
Avatar 11:48am Michael Shelley:

The responses on that page are great
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:48am Listener Baby:

Baby.. You can stop right here. You are not going top this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Gaylord Fields:

@Just Saying: One day I'll write the book Escondido Babylon and blow the lid off the Lawrence Welk Show!
  11:51am clarke:

"no worries" bothers me a little, not that i am against jamaican'isms - but, it wreaks a bit of modern hippy. "have a good one" i don't have a problem/worry with, as it comes from the south - a friendlier place. it seems what we are discussing is how all these phrases are used in the northeast??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am melinda:

I felt self-conscious even saying 'you're welcome' to customers after I read someone online complaining about service people who don't say 'thank you' first. Geez. For me I think tone and demeanor matter the most. When store clerks don't make eye contact or can't crack a even a small smile that feels wrong.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:55am Frank Above:

This Tony Joe White song is reminiscent of "Move Over" by Janis Joplin. Or maybe it's the other way around?
  11:58am clarke:

i think Frank is onto something with the fading of "you're welcome" - maybe it is too formal for the kids these dayzzz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Parq:

It was all of those things, Michael. Welcome to being middle aged.
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 11:59am Listener Baby:

Maybe I spoke too soon..?
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 Swag For Life Member 12:01pm Frank Above:

Clarke, it's not exactly anything new though. I think "no problem" has been pretty commonplace for awhile now.
  12:02pm JakeGould:

The modern economic world has made real estate and construction the main economic engines of economies big and small. So communities are basically destroying themselves to create “jobs” but destroy what little spirit/uniqueness they might have had.

Why travel anywhere nowadays when it’s just piles of glass towers and chains? Not just NJ/NYC but literally everywhere.
