Options Brian Turner: Playlist from July 28, 2015 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Avatar 3:02pm Lopez:

Starting the show with a track from one of the greatest albums of all time? Hells yeah!
Avatar 3:05pm Chris from DC:

UFO's a pretty nice followup.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm fred:

@Lopez: with that karmic balance, fear the withdrawal
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Polyus:

Man no kidding.
Avatar 3:06pm Cecile:

Avatar 3:07pm Cecile:

I remember spending $20 for the CD, which was out of print 20 yrs ago and it was worth it.
  3:08pm Stork:

Hey BT
I'm baaaaack.
Avatar 3:09pm Lopez:

So far so good Fred!
  3:12pm Matt:

  3:13pm Matt:

new cherubs?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm fred:

@Lopez: just think about it: WFMU is the station where playing Sun City Girls buys a DJ credit to play something weird later on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm sphere:

hello hello
Avatar 3:21pm Lopez:

I'm cool with that Fred. In fact, this LST track sounds to me like I'm in the slot machine area of a casino on serious downers
Avatar 3:22pm Lopez:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm fred:

This Gxnt track picks at my regret that the Harsh Noise Wall festival couldn't take place this year. OK, last year attendees may not have outnumbered performers. Still, this was an event I looked forward to
  3:27pm ?:

Avatar 3:34pm Lopez:

That high note on the Black Hole song is the best thing I'll hear all day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm fred:

Wow, that's such an early cover
Avatar 3:40pm Lopez:

GOWANUS Mutant Kommandos?! Hells yes!
Avatar 3:43pm Cecile:

do not ever touch the walls of a rock 'n' roll toilet.
Avatar 3:44pm Cecile:

Avatar 3:50pm steve:

i know it was announced weeks ago but i just wanted to say PRAISE THE GREAT BT for bringing Complete to nyc
Avatar 3:51pm Brian Turner:

Avatar 3:54pm steve:

  3:55pm r i s k y:

That Felt is my life right now Brian. Thanks!
Avatar 3:56pm Ryab:

This is a soothing sound in my ears.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm fred:

Again, I won't be there but hope you enjoy it. Just to attempt to ruin it though, that Felt track reminded me of Lloyd Cole
Avatar 4:00pm Brian Turner:

Lawrence and Lloyd both took vocal coaching lessons from Verlaine it seems
  4:05pm Guy Walker:

Ah yes. Two (2) air quality warnings out, heat index warnings, and... in all the great fashion of our times, let the saxophones scream!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm fred:

@Brian: thanks for that info, maybe I'm not that dumb. No, I am. But Junko!!!!
  4:11pm Brendan:

Cookies ... Num num num
  4:17pm lulu:

this is so great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm fred:

Is this previewing a death metal set? Please say yes!
  4:19pm Brendan:

Cookie monster is humping Martha's leg
  4:19pm FRED:

do you know how to make martha scream twice?
Avatar 4:19pm Lopez:

Holy shit this is blowing my freaking mind. What is real life
  4:20pm ?:

Cookie monster is strung out, and desperate. Should be careful though... Felons are prone to shiv.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Martha got all 50 Shades of Cookie Monster wtf...
Avatar 4:26pm cee:

wow these screams are killing me
Avatar 4:27pm Cecile:

I hate this terrible war.
  4:30pm ?:

Sigh was one of the first metal albums that I bought.... This, however, make me want to *sigh*
Avatar 4:32pm Lopez:

Sigh is like the Trans Siberian Orchestra mixed with a Nintendo driving game background music. I hate it and can't stop listening
  4:33pm bazookajoe:

Middle America sounds like a Slayer version of this 80s band from Carlisle PA called SIK TIKIT, that was the G'n'R version. The 7" came in an 8" jacket and had stupid monster pics all over it. I uploaded it to Youtube, so sik chekit it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Polyus:

Hey, one quarter of VOOOOIIIIVOOOOOD.
  4:38pm bazookajoe:

Carlisle is not too far from Allentown. HA HA HA HA HA HA
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm fred:

@Polyus: I know it's not Thursday, but I could use some VOIVOD right now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm fred:

Afrirampo! I miss them so much
Avatar 5:05pm YesElisabeth:

Thanks again for making Tuesday bearable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm chris:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm fred:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm common:

Avatar 5:41pm Jeff:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Marcel M:

Hello Brian, hello friends.
Avatar 5:48pm Brian Turner:

Hi everybody. Yes, support Mr. Quintron in any human way possible (and nonhumans should too)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Stanley:

That creepy track paid justice to the Brady/Hindley murders
Avatar 5:50pm tonyb:

The cover is a Raymond Pettibon illustration based on a paparazzi photo of Maureen Hindley and her first husband, David Smith, who were witnesses in the case of the Moors murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, driving to the trial in 1966.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Marcel M:

Throbbing Gristle are aloud to talk about whateva, the Queen said so.
Avatar 5:52pm Brian Turner:

Nice Tony B did not know the Goo-nection
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm fred:

Nonhumans should get a rebate!
