"I'm reading poetry, and I'm feeling feelings!" yeah, that pretty much sums up poetry slams circa1990-2000.
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 3:47am Tome:

remember what Alan Arkin said in "little miss sunshine' to the kid ,, if you're doing that to your utmost you won't feel so old ..

Great show! Boom!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 6/7/15 3:54am JakeGould:

Jonathan Herweg, I’m a wee bit older than you and only when I get a bad haircut or a bad night’s sleep do people think I am “old.” That’s been the case since my 20s. Also, just keep on doing young people things that you like. And all is good. And… HAPPY B-DAY!
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 3:54am Simon P:

take heart Jonathan there are those who make your age seem that of a mere stripling
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 3:56am Jherweg:

I get a bad nights sleep at least once a week, this time slot will be sure to age me prematurely. ha ha ha
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 3:57am Jherweg:

this is for Kufuka. !

Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 4:05am Simon P:

Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 4:05am nanantatee:

It only means what you let it... it's just a number signifying time passed relative to other humans, as opposed to telomere length or brain volume/synapse activity, or quality of life. I personally just don't like being forced to associate myself with a number.
  Sun. 6/7/15 4:05am #4:

PIGS ? NEVER call the Pigs
  Sun. 6/7/15 4:06am JoeRay:

Jonathan, you stooped to the stoop!
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 4:07am nanantatee:

Unless it's a number with lots of zeroes after it and it's in my bank account.
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 4:11am Jherweg:

Well I'm the same as I ever was, and I'm getting cooler and more confident than I've ever been. It's weird to think that I'm possibly a square to some young kid, What the hell do they know? What did I know at their age? Thanks Nanatee....

Alan Partridge is a character played by Steve Coogan
  Sun. 6/7/15 4:26am adam:

yeah, I thought it was from the Alan Partridge audiobook. I am a bit tired and loopy. I guess I was just being racist where all English people sound the same to me though!
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 4:26am Jherweg:

I put a question mark there.

  Sun. 6/7/15 4:36am adam:

Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 4:38am Jherweg:

this was the first Sun City Girls album I ever bought/heard.
  Sun. 6/7/15 4:46am adam:

Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 5:05am Jay/London:

just got up nice chilled show
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 6/7/15 5:15am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Don't complain about getting old - it's a privilege denied many.' True - but I guess the reverse could be said to the prematurely dead: 'Don't complain about death - everyone else got old & sick & diminished' - just like Buddhism promised you would...
As I always say - I didn't like young people so much when I was one, why should I care about their opinions now? ; More to the point probably is that we who would listen to this stuff here are The Few
- but there are kewl young people - say @ Punk shows, if there were any anymore...Punk itself is old too...An outsider amongst even outsiders - always the way...
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 5:17am Jay/London:

this sounds a lot like Philip glass
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 6/7/15 5:18am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I thot Dead Can Dance ('Severance') & then Richard Young ('Spin Me Endless' organ version).
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 5:19am Jay/London:

@ rabbit nov69 all music is ageless .. enjoy :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Sun. 6/7/15 5:20am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- yes - we talk about artists like they are always in the present: 'What Gene Clark is doing here'...
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 6/7/15 5:22am fred:

Good morning Jonathan and listeners. Sorry that you're still in this time slot Jonathan, but at least you're on the schedule
  Sun. 6/7/15 5:26am Wigmorewhippet:

Hi Jonathan, I too love the new Jim O'Rourke, made me dig out the 'Halfway..' EP and Eureka, both also excellent (and better than Insignificance IMHO)...
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 5:26am Jherweg:

Morning Fred...... maybe there were too many weirdo experimental music shows on the schedule? It's not everyone's cup of tea I imagine.
  Sun. 6/7/15 5:27am Wigmorewhippet:

On a separate note went to see Follakzoid last night in Leeds @ Wharf Chambers and they were rather good...
  Sun. 6/7/15 5:27am Kafuka:

Thank you for another great show. I have to go now. I'll take the archive.
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 5:29am Jherweg:

Thanks Kufuka .have a great day!!!
  Sun. 6/7/15 5:29am Kafuka:

Ah, blurred and obscured is the best cup of tea of this radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 6/7/15 5:29am fred:

@Wigmorewhippet: I saw them last Monday, and I liked them a lot
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 6/7/15 5:45am fred:

I don't think there were too many experimental shows. But these are often at difficult hours, as you only know too well. I guess that also plays into the turnover
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Sun. 6/7/15 5:46am Bas NL:

only got the last 40 minutes.. but oh boy! Thanks Jonathan!
Avatar Sun. 6/7/15 2:14pm Jaackk:
