Avatar 3:08pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

playing it off soundcloud while the FMU stream goes is really getting some groovy patterns..
Avatar 3:08pm Cecile:

I couldn't believe it. He'd just played his first US shows. He's my fricking age.

  3:15pm rw:

Has anybody ever played one track for their entire three hour shift?
Avatar 3:15pm fred:

I remember Jason Forrest playing a track from a mp3 with faulty encoding. Even he wasn't certain he hadn't just ripped the wrong one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Stanley:

Can we have that again?
  3:16pm ccrides:

Hopefully, not without ample warning...LOL...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Andrew Waterloo:

@rw Dan Bodah once talked for the majority of his three hour shift.
Avatar 3:16pm d¢ pät:

rw: I know Kenny G pulled something like that.
  3:17pm ccrides:

Maybe Stan is filling in???...hahaha...:)O(:...

AW and dp: That's why we all love this station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Scott Williams:

I've done 3 tracks in 3 hours. Pretty sure Bryce has done 1 in 3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm common:

i'll bet bryce has.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm common:

and kenny g did the pete and repeat joke for - i think - 3 hours.
Avatar 3:21pm fred:

@rw: not the same thing, but Ken one had a show playing only versions of the internationale. And of course there was the bohemian rhapsody one
  3:21pm ccrides:

That reminds me why hasn't anybody played the entire studio version of Thick as a Brick, yet???...curious minds want to know!?!?!...:)O(:...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Todd76Pct:

kenny g once played "Chocolate City" by Parliament on repeat for 3 hours.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Scott Williams:

Kenny G once had Nick the Bard on performing Thick as a Brick in its entirety
Avatar 3:23pm fred:

Kenny G also had two straight shows reading the weather reports of the year that was ending
Avatar 3:23pm Cecile:

I remember that. That was kind of awesome.
Avatar 3:23pm northguineahills:

Electric Company, then the lab!, nice!

I once played the intro of Emperor Tomato Ketchup (w/ two vinyl recs) before the vox for 30 minutes at a house party. Most people didn't mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Carmichael:

Yes, Stereolab! This is a great album. Hiya Scotty me boy.
Avatar 3:23pm Cecile:

I remember that as well. That was far less awesome.
Avatar 3:24pm Cheri Pi:

My neurons are skipping across this sizzling pan.
  3:24pm ccrides:

Actually I 'do' remember that, Scott...excellent!!!...:)O(:...
Avatar 3:24pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 3:25pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HA! PAH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Ĩkє:

@Fred, back in the 90s, I believe Steinski did one excellent hour-long special of nothing but different (sometimes wildly different) versions of "Caravan."
Avatar 3:25pm Cheri Pi:

papps!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Carmichael:

Kenny G would sing the entire comments list also. I remember him sonically harmonizing with the Allman Bros' Blue Sky, followed by Dokaka's Ramblin' Man. Most bizarre radio moment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm common:

hee hee! good stuff, all that's been mentioned.
Avatar 3:27pm fred:

Back when I was just getting into high school, French punk band Bérurier Noir had a single called "l'empereur tomato ketchup". It didn't sound like this at all

Avatar 3:29pm d¢ pät:

@ Todd76Pct: that's what I was thinking of.
Avatar 3:29pm Van in DC:

Ken did that "The Only Song" over and over and over once...
Avatar 3:30pm northguineahills:

You lucky dog, ngh. I don't know what I would do ....
Avatar 3:34pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Bureau B strikes again!
I may swoon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Carmichael:

I got a bunch of Steinski's data dumps as an FMU premium a few years ago. I should re-listen.
Avatar 3:37pm northguineahills:

@Carmichael: The first time I was 20 18 years ago in a parking lot in Atlanta and just bumped into the 'lab after purchasing our tickets 4 hours early. My friend did all the talking, and they asked us if we had dinner yet. He said yes (we just ate), and we sat around waiting for the show to start. Man, were we dumb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm DCE:

I think I'll have a kolsch upon arriving at home tonight.
Avatar 3:38pm northguineahills:

I believe Doug played the Caravan Steinski and archived two years ago on the GTDS stream.
