Saturday, May 26th, 6pm - 9pm: TSP Live From Issyra African Gallery, Hoboken with Nonstop Live Music From Africa and Beyond, Free Admission!

Issyra Gallery at 300 Observer Highway in Hoboken is an amazing place, it must be seen to be believed, jam-packed - floor to ceiling - with traditional African art and contemporary art. (Photos at http://tiny.cc/africanhoboken.) And as a special Memorial Day weekend treat, we're filling this spectacular space with fabulous live music! Join us at Issyra on Saturday May 26th from 6-9 pm in person - admission is free - or tune in live for (in this order):
- Virtuosic oud explorations by Brian Prunka
- Ancient texts brought to life by Echoes of Antiquity featuring accordionist / multi-instrumentalist Ismail Butera and percussionist Natalia Perlaza
- The avant-gyil stylings of Alfred Kpebsaane and Brittany Anjou's Bewaa - a captivating coalescence of Ghanaian gyil (xylophone) and electronic keyboards
- And we're thrilled to wrap things up with acclaimed visiting Senegalese mbalax singer Oumar Ndiaye and friends Smokey Hormel , Issa Sow and Ngor Jallow.
