Sat. Aug 24th, 6pm - 9pm: South Indian Veena Virtuoso Saraswathi Ranganathan + Brian Keigher of World Music Institute

The World Music Institute (WMI) season officially launches with Slavic Soul Party and Mames Babegenush channeling East European traditions Tuesday August 27th at Mercury Lounge. But there's also a great pre-season concert Sunday afternoon the 25th: Saraswathi Ranganathan performs on the South Indian veena at Hudson Valley sculpture park Storm King. Saraswathi and percussionist Ganapathi Ranganathan join us along with WMI's new Artistic Director Brian Keigher, who introduces music from around the world that WMI will bring to venues around NYC this fall.
