Fun (?) fact of the day: The cover art of the LP "Magic Christian Music" by Badfinger is a takeoff of some of the recurring images in de Chirico's early paintings.

WRAS Atlanta: "Left on the dial, right on the music." Also "Keep it locked to the left." Formerly a great college station, Governor Deal gave 14 air hours a day to Georgia Public Broadcasting as a political payoff and the station has gone downhill since then IMO. This was after student fees had been raised for a few years to pay for a $500k transmitter (the station broadcasts at 100k watts).

But the winner in NYC has to be WNYZ-LP at 87.75 FM (TV channel 6) en.wikipedia.org...

"During most of its life while operating on channel 6, the station has been operated more as a radio station than a television station. WNYZ-LP broadcasts video, usually silent movies which are repeated throughout the day, for the likely reason to fulfill the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requirement that some sort of video be broadcast on the frequency because WNYZ-LP is licensed as a television facility."

'The audio programming on WNYZ was originally Russian Top 40 (Radio Vsyo - Russian for "Radio Everything"). Late in 2007, it was announced that the station would be changing the audio format to a Dance-intensive Rhythmic Top 40 format as "Pulse 87".'

Sachiko was bummed that she didn't have her "Misora" guitar with her to play "Blue Fish" since the action is so different, but I think she did fine!

I must confess I don’t understand Japanese but the ‘bap a dap a doo doo’ part somehow speaks to me . I think we all retain a lifelong memory of those sounds as a baby . Or maybe we regurgitate the babble sounds adults serenaded us with as infants.

Thanks Joe ( and Sachiko for being so thoughtful). They sound great in any lingo. And no sweat about not playing Blue Fish. I hear she makes up for it with a mean version of Green Grass and High Tides as the closer. Got my lighter ready.

Thanks Joe. I know the artists don't get much but I may just have to go to the iTunes store and purchase her songs there.
