great start to the show!

There's another of those Auzoux papier-mache mushroom models at the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Silver Spring, MD. The mushrooms each have a metal stem at bottom that fits into a hole in the base. A great work by a great model maker.
Avatar    Wed. 5/17/17 3:27pm Wild Neil:

I Favored What you deserve just because Irwin asked. PEACE ALL. THATS A MODEL??!!

Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 3:28pm Itzall Ablurr:

Ipps are great, remind me of X a little in the dissonant "harmonies" the singers were doing.
Avatar    Wed. 5/17/17 3:30pm Wild Neil:

@Irwin et al-what do you all think of The Handsome Family, Weightless Again? Anybody? Heard them on a k-tell record Alt Country double disk. I shit you not!
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 3:34pm Asheville Jon:

it's been really nice hearing Captain Beefheart on FMU a lot lately.

mushrooms grow well in pastures.
  Wed. 5/17/17 3:37pm Laura L:

@ WN, yes, that is a papier-mache model by the great Auzoux.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 3:38pm Irwin:

They don't look like the shrooms I saute.
  Wed. 5/17/17 3:39pm Laura L:

You don't saute papier-mache, though, now do ya.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 3:39pm Irwin:

The glue! The glue! I can't find the glue!
  Wed. 5/17/17 3:47pm berbo:

I have cooked a few of those - morels, boletes, lepiota, and ... black trumpets!
  Wed. 5/17/17 3:50pm ferf:

Fact: Irwin once played drums in an early-era Sonic Youth

Yeah! Nice song!
Avatar    Wed. 5/17/17 3:53pm Wild Neil:

Wild Neil loves the Monkees, grew up watching them on WNEW Channel 5 in the 70's and talks about himself in the third person.
  Wed. 5/17/17 3:54pm Dean:

Everybody else talks about you in the third person, too, @Wild Neil. Sometimes the second.
Avatar    Wed. 5/17/17 3:54pm Wild Neil:

@Dean-my God, Dean is right! I mean, "you're right!".
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 5/17/17 3:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If someone is totally forgotten to history, like Pontius Pilate's great-grandmother's hatmaker, is said person being referred to in the zeroeth person?
(Practicing for tonight's Seven Second Delay show.)
  Wed. 5/17/17 4:01pm Dean:

Bad example, @KenFHP. There's a direct line of descent from PP's great-grandmother's hatmaker to Kevin Bacon's babysitter.
  Wed. 5/17/17 4:04pm Martin:

Hi Irwin, are the Joe Frank segments you air, archived on WFMU?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 5/17/17 4:04pm Carmichael:

Taking shrooms and sniffing glue. Made me the man I am today.
  Wed. 5/17/17 4:06pm ferf:

Speaking of lost in history, did you know Hitler had a sister?
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 4:11pm βrian:

Elmer's glue, I hope.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 4:15pm βrian:

HoJo's went cafeteria style? I missed that.

Miss those clams.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 4:16pm Irwin:

Martin: the audio for the shows remains in the program archives, but the playlist entries are removed at the request of Joe and his wife. Buy episodes at JoeFrank.com. They need the money.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 4:16pm βrian:

If he had a sister, wouldn't that imply he had a mother? I can't believe that.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 4:27pm βrian:

"Ich haba dabba doo."
  Wed. 5/17/17 4:33pm Martin:

Thanks, Irwin. I'll definitely buy his stuff. Thank you for turning me onto his work!
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 4:41pm Fox (Rā-chul):

Man. As a pothead, retired shoplifter, and person who once worked the phones to get donations for Carnegie Hall, I can really relate to this episode.
  Wed. 5/17/17 4:57pm DryEraser:

This stuff is anxiety inducing. Who needs pot when you can listen to this?

Déjà vu...
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 5:17pm Irwin:

"The Band Wagon" is a terrific movie -- Seinfeldian in its Nothingness. Great music, dancing, and dialogue, but it didn't have a plot to lose. See it sometime.
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 5:20pm Michael 98145:

okay - not sure we ever have ...
Avatar Wed. 5/17/17 5:21pm Listening Out There:

Band Wagon is my favorite Astaire films, along with Top Hat. Only recently watched Follow the Fleet for the first time...
