Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 4/12/17 8:35pm coelacanth∅:

i've never mentioned a "lyd" to anyone under maybe 40 who knew what it was. ...is that how it was spelled though? i never knew - just assumed it's "lid", and never knew why it was called that.
  Wed. 4/12/17 8:35pm Keith B.:

Luv the ear candy VV. Rock our socks off!
Avatar Wed. 4/12/17 8:36pm DJVikkiV:

Yeah LYD is the original spelling but folks always spelled it both ways! lol
Avatar    Wed. 4/12/17 8:39pm Mailman Tom:

If I recall, one lid equals one ounce.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 4/12/17 8:40pm coelacanth∅:

haha we are thinking of the same thing, right?! (the unit of measurement for herb)
...there's no hint of that phrase being used that way with a quick internet search.
Avatar Wed. 4/12/17 8:41pm DJVikkiV:

Tom is correct! Some dealers still use it lol not that I would know such a thing ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 4/12/17 8:42pm coelacanth∅:

Mailman Tom, in my region it was an ounce & a half - which i always thought was strange.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 4/12/17 8:43pm coelacanth∅:

there were joints, nickles, dimes, ounces, lids, pounds & kilos.
Avatar Wed. 4/12/17 8:43pm DJVikkiV:

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 4/12/17 8:49pm coelacanth∅:

hmm, even in the 90s people got royally fucked for small amounts of herb.
in 1999 i spent $3000.+ to stay out of jail for what would amount to probably about 1/20th of one hit of herb.
  Wed. 4/12/17 8:50pm Keith B.:

Sorry about that C.
Avatar Wed. 4/12/17 8:51pm DJVikkiV:

Yeah I spent 1k and a day in jail cause I had a pipe with resin in boondocks Oklahoma on my way to GA from San Francisco!
Avatar    Wed. 4/12/17 8:51pm Mailman Tom:

I went to see Iron Butterfly at the Fillmore East in 1968, when they released their 1st album. The next year I saw them at the Fillmore East again, when their 2nd album came out, which had In a Gadda da Vida on it.
Avatar Wed. 4/12/17 8:51pm DJVikkiV:
