Evening, everyone :)

Da, da, we are starting with some fine music for the New Soviet Man! (A piece I imagine the General Secretary didn't care for and would before long be in a position to "weigh in" upon...)

I'm serious, your pronunciation was nice and, I don't know...I enjoy all those pieces even though I'm not a classical buff...
I feel a bit silly to do this now that it's a bit too late but...anyway...here is the proof... : Je suis content que vous passiez de la musique française sur WFMU parce que je pensais que nous n'étions pas trop bon comparés aux Allemands avec Can, Faust, Alva Noto, etc, et la Grande-Bretagne, et le Japon...
Damn, it took me a time to reply and feel a bit stupid, maybe I'm going to sleep soon, but don't worry, the guy who complained on e-mail was maybe a bit uptight IMO, and at worst everything is on the website... Don't worry !

Ok, I believe you :) Are you in France? It really is bedtime if so, but I'm so happy you tuned into the show!

Hmm, the bits I had a chance to skim through on Warlock/Heseltine put me in mind of Carlo Gesualdo, who had a similarly brief and evidently tumultuous life three centuries earlier...

Hi Bethany, tune into your show as often as I can and enjoy it much though I don't often comment, often cookin or otherwise involved but tonight is tops! For me at least- really enjoying every bit. Thank you!

It’s 2:48 AM in France.

Yes, I'm in Grenoble :) (but I prefer Lyon who is ~100 miles away to be honest, it has a better music scene, even though the people who organize concerts in Grenoble are nice too, especially when it comes to the avant-garde scene with this place called the '102')
It's 2:45 AM here, but anyway, I was happy to talk to a WFMU DJ, thank you for your great freeform radio !

Glad we got to play some French composers - I'd never heard of Maurice Ohana until a short while ago. Makes me think of how many overlooked composers are out there, just a short distance away in this digital age.

Thanks, Rev Rabbit, Philthy Woman - always nice to hear that these compositions attract curious ears. Bunyan -good call on the Warlock/Heseltine comparison to Gesualdo!
