Texas is such a confounding place. I lived in Lubbock for 9 months and I experienced so much culture shock. People seemed to fearful. There was a woman in my neighborhood who walked a big ass german shepherd and carried an axe handle. So weird.

Austin's cool and there's lots of great natural areas. Lubbock was a really weird place. It was extremely insular and indoctrinated. My wife and I had jaw dropping, forehead smacking interactions with Lubbockites at least once a week.

1976-77 were awful years for vinyl quality. They arrived pre-scratched and jumping. I had a John Stewart album like that on RCA funnily enough. When I heard it years later without the hisses and bumps, I did not recognise it.

Cannot see any reedeeming features for CDs over albums
Lost artwork
Lost sound quality (alright poor pressings but the principle is there)
Hard to read
Convenient in size is not a good enough reason, this had lead to mp3s and even worse quality.
Plus point the rise of the compilation.

New albums are pretty great - carefully pressed and 180 gram vinyl. Unfortunately, where I shop, unless they are in horrible shape, all sales tend to be final. Probably that's why they are careful.
