The cure for Monday - the Irene Trudel show! Yay! Hi Irene!

Sem Chumbo:

G'day, all. Ready for the whole string thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm
Irene Trudel:

Hi Everbody! I mean a string thing in the loosest sense of the word. There will be lots of strings in today's offering of songs. Many guitars but but possibly as minimal as a bass. We shall see where the show goes.
Avatar 12:15pm
Van in DC:

I'm sure you'll string together a great show Irene!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
DCE:

maybe one with a "strings" preset on the casio would qualify

Good morning (West) afternoon (East) Irene and WFMU. It's a beautiful day in Southern Arizona. Looking at the flowers and birds and thinking of Virginia Astley music.

jeeze, you'll never guess what I just did--after extolling the virtues of the homemade hot sauce at the local Chinese buffet, I completely forgot to use it!!

geez, RTD is tough...I only got three demerits for smoking on campus back in '87

inflation I guess... Luckily the string beans in garlic sauce came with some chillies so I gnawed them for the heat...

Hello all Trudelites! Damn, I missed the Havens set. A truly wonderful man that I was lucky enough to meet several times over the years. It's f-ing sad the way the media reduced him to a sound & video-byte of strumming at Woodstock. We know that there's so much more.

This is the loveliest set of strings I've heard in a while. Unfortunately I have to leave early. Thanks, Irene!

Hello, Irene. Just saw "Greetings From Tim Buckley." Loved it. It's about Tim and Jeff and that's all i can say about it.
Avatar 1:58pm
Sem Chumbo:

Getting zero work done: looking out the window watching the tide come in, the blue sky reflected in it and the poplar tree slowly obscuring more of my view as its buds pop open, all while listening to your string thing. Irene, thx.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
Mike East:

@KP - they got most of the music related props from us for that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm
Mike East:

@KP - also - interesting fact - they used the same engineer for the St. Ann's Warehouse performance that mixed the original concert there. (I believe)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm
Irene Trudel:

Glad to hear @KP! I've been a bit worried that it will be disappointing. @Sem, sorry you're not getting any work done, but isn't that attributable to "spring fever" rather than my show? :D

Great, great music, Irene, this track is fab.

@Irene: credit where credit is due:)

It felt sort of WFMU-ish. There were a lot of women in black t-shirts, for one thing.
Avatar 2:42pm
KP:

I was confused about St. Anne's Warehouse as opposed to church. I didnt even know there was a church.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm
Mike East:

I get confused, too. There's also a St. Anne's School.
  2:50pm
Ralphine:

A friend of mine who used to have folk musicians do shows at his house had Townes Van Zandt play a couple of times. I had no idea who Townes was at the time, so I told my friend to call me when he was able to book Ronnie Van Zant.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:51pm
KevinfromBayRidge:

@ KP & Mike. They used to have concerts at the church which is in Bklyn Hts @ Montague & Clinton St. Nice venue but the arches often obstructed visually
Avatar 2:54pm
KP:

I knew somebody at work and when he said he went to St. Anne's I of course spoke before thinking and said aren't you Jewish.
  2:55pm

I remember seeing Dr. John at Arts at St. Ann's in Brooklyn back in the 1980s.
