Hey Monica, tedious question here, but if you have time or memory, I'd appreciate it! What was the song you played last week that you spoke over after the first set? I believe it followed right after F.C. Judd's Tempotune?

  Sun. 1/29/12 7:53pm Greg/Brooklyn:

Had a lemon of a Mac in 2005. Went thru countless hours of tech support, visits to the Apple store and even had a home visit from an Apple tech. All to no avail.
Finally I sent all the documentation via Fed Ex to Steve Jobs office. Within 24 hours I received a call from his office saying that they would be shipping me a whole new setup. New tower and monitor etc. Including apologies for having to send a larger monitor. It's still working fine to this day!

  Sun. 1/29/12 8:02pm Forever Alone:

was once arrested in Mexico City by some cops that claimed I had destroyed a telephone booth, was handcuffed, had my wallet taken, threatened, then they just took all my money and dumped me out on a curb after a couple hours at 4 a.m. I had to walk all the way home, that day, the system won
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:03pm Forever Alone:

Oh, btw, I also want to know about the song that Guincho inquired about!
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:05pm Mike Sin:

Listening to this fine show via the broadcast signal, but... I just ate myself into a hummus coma, so I had to just check in from the horizontal position via the iPhone app.

Forgot to mention, after her third marriage her name was Eunice Davis! (Not this one, of course.)
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:12pm T-Zero:

Hello, Thierry! Yes, definitely a Sophie classic. Don't know who wrote it though. Anyone here know?.... Doug S. - yes and yes!
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:33pm G:

wikipedia on "Some of These Days":

Originally written and composed by Shelton Brooks for the “Last of the Red-Hot Mamas”, "Some of These Days" became a signature song for Sophie Tucker, who made the first of her several recordings of it in 1911.
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:35pm G:

Shelton Brooks' " hits included "Some of These Days", "At the Darktown Strutters' Ball", "I Wonder Where My Easy Rider's Gone", "Every Day", "All Night Long", "Somewhere in France", "Swing That Thing", "That Man of Mine", "There'll Come A Time", and "Walkin' the Dog"."
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:35pm Ted Leonard:

Rumor has it we've got bidness in Studio C tonight. Should I stop by Studio A for a scratch?
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:38pm listener gary:

In defense of mgm the film you described was a Fox musical...and they were what they were.
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:40pm Thierry:

Thanks Monica! A quick look at wikipedia: the author was canadian jazz composer Shelton Brooks (1886-1975)
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:41pm T-Zero:

Wait! Did you say I was talking about the singer? I wasn't saying the singer Eunice Davis was married 3 times, my aunt was! I don't know personal info on the singer...
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:45pm listener gary:

That Peggy Lee ...she's the best.

Ted Leonard - PLEASE DO!!!!...G - thank you!!! You broke it down to the last molecule....
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:49pm listener gary:

I had a friend who, back in the 50's suffered his first broken heart while a student at Yale. To cheer him up a friend took him to see No Biz Like Sho Biz and in the middle of it my friend cracked up. He said he realized that it was an absurd film, that life itself was absurd and that there was no reason to have a broken heart and so he never again did.
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:50pm ?:

oop bop sh'bam a klook a mop!
  Sun. 1/29/12 8:53pm CB1:

  Sun. 1/29/12 9:12pm A:

All I got was the name of the album: Sunday Morning Airwaves (i think) they were a dc band apparently. Anybody know the song, or have any idea what I'm talking about?
