FYI: Ali Akbar Khan died. It's major news in the Pakistani dailies today, but despite the fact that he lived (and died) in San Rafael, there's nothing in the Bay Area papers.

Bon voyage to Ustad AAK. He was on the Concert for Bangladesh, which was one of Ravi Shankar's two most famous US performances (the other being the one captured in "Monterey Pop"). Marshall, maybe the San Fran papers haven't gotten it out yet.

When the project was completed, both participants continued to reverberate. They may be reverberating still.
