Terre,
As usual on Saturdays, really enjoying the show! Boyce & Hart, yeah! Wanted to get the word out to any CT-area listeners about a big show Monday night in Danbury CT @ the Heirloom Arts Theater: Fucked Up, Vivian Girls, Hostage Calm, and 76% Uncertain. First band @ 7:30 PM.

Sat. 10/11/08 5:24pm From: SuePer

Danne D - I'm pretty sure this new CD on Hyped2Death compiles all the recordings from the Performing Ferrets; 28 tracks!

Sat. 10/11/08 5:25pm From: Dina

Sat. 10/11/08 5:46pm From: Evan

Terre -- Hey, I was at that show at Shea. I was in the nosebleed seats, too far to one side to see the drum kit. Security was literally hauling people out over the heads of the crowd like they were carting corpses, so many folks got crushed and/or fainted while the crowds surged on the floor.

Sat. 10/11/08 5:55pm From: Danne D

ZOMG Gig-o-bama! lol :) That's great! Btw, I can't believe Evan was there as he's much too young to have been ;)

Sat. 10/11/08 5:58pm From: Evan

Different Evan. not the DJ. If I'm asserting correctly.

Sat. 10/11/08 5:59pm From: Danne D

correct assumption - you're too young too, though , even though I don't know ya :) Terre has a very youthful listenership :)

Sat. 10/11/08 6:45pm From: Terre T

Thanx Evan for the 1982 CLASH scene report!
Thanx mickey, Dina, Todd, Danne for the kind words!
Hey Noah, my crazy Cherry Blossom Clinic bumper promos in -btwn songs were done by thee fantastic MICHAEL LYNCH!!! He's in the ANYTHING PEOPLE and he's an amazing 6TS influenced singer-songwriter-musician extra-ordinaire!

Sun. 10/12/08 12:18pm From: MikeSin

I post this strictly for factual purposes, not for some arrogant, snobby, record-collector geek ego-stroke thrill….

The live of version of Phil Och’s “Tape from California” that you played is not from the 1968 album of the same name. That live version was recorded at Carnegie Hall in 1970 and was later featured only on a Canadian-import LP entitled “Gunfight at Carnegie Hall.” The arrangement of the original studio version and this later live version are quite different.

The story behind this Carnegie Hall performance and the subsequent LP is quite fascinating. Check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunfight_at_Carnegie_Hall

Thanks for another fine radio show.

Mon. 10/20/08 3:45pm From: frenchee

Holy cannoli, Phil Ochs sang "Okie from Muskogie"? the world's gone all backwards...thanks for the wiki-link, Mike Sinformational Note. And the graphic of Phil in Nudie lamé!

Tue. 10/28/08 1:24pm From: Nigel Chatfield

The CD doesn't have all of the Performing Ferrets recordings - and I should know. I am a Performing Ferret! More details at www.performingferrets.co.uk
