DEC 3: BARRENCE WHITFIELD & THE SAVAGES and CRUDDY - After a long hiatus, the (mostly) original line-up of Boston legends Barrence Whitfield & The Savages are back on WFMU this Sat, Dec 3rd. Their wild, searing 2011 lp, Savage Kings (Munster/ Shake it) with Barrence’s amazing r'n'b shouter vocals calls to mind Little Richard or Esquerita live in their prime! Plus Peter Greenberg (DMZ) is back on searing guitar! Also B& Savages be playing the early show (7pm doors) at Maxwell’s later that evening!
And if that weren’t enough later in the show we’ll have a live performance from CRUDDY- Punk ROCK from Austin, TX (featuring current, former members Total Abuse & Best Fwends.) CRUDDY’s debut album Negative World(12XU) is total Hardcore Ponk dynamics compressed into brutally efficient short, shock songs akin to early Black Flag, Necros& the Urinals. They’re currently on tour & will be playing Sat Dec 3 in NYC at The Cake Shop

DEC 10: HAPPY REFUGEES - The Cherry Blossom Clinic is excited to welcome THE HAPPY REFUGEES to the WFMU airwaves on December 10th! This British band created a brand of highly charged cult post-punk akin to early Mekons, Toy Love, Swell Maps and the Nightingales back in the 80s. But now they've reunited for the first time in nearly 30 years to set the record straight. Their classic record LAST CHANCE SALOON (Acute) is being reissued and they're playing their first US shows ever Fri Dec 9 at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn, w/Crystal Stilts and Dec 10 Sat at Cake Shop, w/Regal Degal.

DEC 17: REIGNING SOUND - It’s the most wonderful time of the year with REIGNING SOUND back to the WFMU airwaves for the Cherry Blossom Clinic Christmas show! The Reigning Sound return with a newly configured band - now featuring members of the amazing Jay Vons! Reigning Sound will be tearing through their latest amazing release ABDICATION FOR YOUR LOVE (available for free DL) on Scion Records. The new record features some of Greg Cartwright's greatest songs yet, so be sure to tune in to the Cherry Blossom Clinic on Sat 3-6pmET Dec17 to hear Reigning Sound live!
