I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

The pun is a lot more impressive when you hear how thick his accent is. Although, I accidentally did the same thing once to my MiL, listening to (some version of the classic) _Perdida_. I was like, "that word doesn't make sense in that usage, they should just call her "Ho-dida" and MiL heard me say "jodida" and lost it.

Between the metal sensibility and the title "Phrygian Tucket" that track would not be out-of-place on any Longmont Potion Castle release.

Hi, Bryce, mortals and immortals.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Bryce:

i once saw a beautiful modern black gloss electric harpsichord in a mid-century shop in montclair, nj. i really considered being a hit man for a month, just a month....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Rory:

@Bryce - I’ll be your hit man, Bryce! Whatcha need bro?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm maestroso:

@Bryce - there was a clear lucite electric harpsichord in Robbie's Music City in Totowa for a long time in the '70s. I wonder if it's still there.

Simply divine...

Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Krys O.:

Need a Magnus chord organ. Had one as a kid. My next pandemic impulse buy.

My pandemic impluse buys are old New Directions poetry books.

So, I'm guessing no blood-letting in this one, eh, Bryce?

oddly not!! i just noticed video of this entire performance is on youtube. there's nothing naked or disembowled at all. huh!

@JakeGould: New Directions published a lot of Ezra Pound - my favorite poet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Bryce:

i love when you push a key like halfway down, the not starts at a lower pitch than it's supposed to and bends up as you keep going
  1:11pm luther blissett:

good afternoon
  1:12pm JakeGould:

@WM: Mainly getting Pablo Neruda and William Carlos Williams books. Also, they give me some deep positive nostalgia for the college bookstore I worked in because they pretty much all have that college bookstore specific charcoal price stamp inside as well as those security tag strips randomly placed inside of them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Carmichael:

Pete Townshend busted into a common Lowry organ, stole the marimba rythmn track and twisted it up into the intro of Baba O'Riley.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Bryce:

carmichael, fmu actually has that very (model of) organ in the love room! it's crazy the first time you randomly hit the right "stop" and it goes baba
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Carmichael:

I'd love to break into an old Wurlitzer and make it work out until it has a heart attack. I could get some killer tones out of it.
  1:19pm JakeGould:

I know you guys are talking about analog synths, but I am fascinated by this — effectively — modular synth programming language mentioned on another playlist, Chuck: chuck.cs.princeton.edu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Krys O.:

My brother showed me how to circuit bend on transistor radios in the early 70s. Those sounds were amazing.
Avatar 1:21pm Hubig Pie:

I had a Casio keyboard that did a pretty good Wesley Willis
  1:22pm The old pooperoo:

Drive the tubes into clipping, maybe? That's what the guitarists do. Wonder if anyone has tried screwing around with bias? If Cage(?) wrote pieces for a prepared piano, there could be a prepared Wurlitzer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm WoodsOfNH:

@JakeGould Because of PandemicScatterbrain, I haven't spent enough time with Chuck but I like that I can write plain text. The first thing I did was a program that read and played random chunks of a sound file. And it was maybe 15 lines long!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Bryce:

oh wow, ChucK has a lot of modules. on the sort of opposite tip, being purely visual, Audulus is a lot of fun. it'll run on your phone too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Krys O.:

Still have my Casio PT-30 from 1984.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Carmichael:

There's a group that breaks into the Nintendo Gameboy and manipulates the synth. They crank out some odd songs. Every Xmas I play the 8 bit version of Let It Snow.
  1:26pm WM:

@JakeGould: New Directions was founded by James Laughlin who knew WCW and EP personally. He also published many works by Octavio Paz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Bryce:

  1:27pm JakeGould:

@WoodsofNH: Yeah, I know that pandemic scatterbrain feeling… For me I have cleared up my GitHub repo after seeing what a bloated disaster it was and have decided to experiment with OpenCV stuff. ChucK looks cool, but I just need to find my own cycles.
  1:28pm JakeGould:

@WM: Quality stuff.

@Bryce: LOL! I like how on WFMU there are many DJs who never refer to themselves as DJs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm stefica:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Krys O.:

I know! Have a conversation with my cats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm p20:

@JakeGould: I have done some motion tracking stuff with OpenCV... it's a nice library
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm stefica:

My cats get annoyed when I wake them up to interact, though they don't mind waking me up to interact.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Krys O.:

Going back to work on Monday and I'm sure my cats will hardly notice the difference since they sleep 20 hours a day.
Avatar 1:36pm Chris from DC:

Yay, Hermann!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Carmichael:

@Jake, do they have examples of sounds written in Chuck? The site looks like it was written by programmers, i.e. indecipherable ..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Bryce:

LSDj = the Gameboy music software!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Crudbringer:

Did you guys know that "Hermann" is German for "Mister Man"?
  1:40pm alan r:

Just tuned in from Mexico City! Nice surprise !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm WoodsOfNH:

@Carmichael If you install the programming environment miniAudicle (which will install Chuck) you can browse examples via File-Open Example. And yeah, the site looks like it was written by programmers because it was!
  1:42pm JakeGould:

@Carmichael: This video shows how you can use Chuck to process a pre-existing sound file: www.youtube.com...

As far as pre-existing sounds go, there are sound generators in the programming. But you need to be able to program them to create output. But the video I show is nice in that it shows how you can take a simple WAV file and do cool stuff with it in a small amount of code.

Allmusic: In 2015, Nitsch was scheduled for a major Aktion at the Museo Jumex in Mexico City. After an online petition garnered more than 5,000 signatures in protest (because of alleged animal cruelty) the exhibit was suspended. What remained was the score, Sinfonie Für Mexico City, performed by Ensemble, Students of the Conservatorio Nacional de Música, directed by Andrea Cusumano and recorded at Museo ExTeresa Arte Actual.
