I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm Carmichael:

Heya Bryce and covidians. Looks like Sacramento is headed for stage 3 in a few weeks, opening up inside retail, workplaces, and THE BARS!!!
Avatar 12:28pm Bryce:

i promised myself i'd squeeze out a subcontinent per month during the plandemic and just realized i counted to 5 *facepunch*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Crudbringer:

nah as opposed to inline ("rollerblades")
Avatar 12:30pm Bryce:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm adrian elaine:

@Nice! Since your last subcontinent show, it's been more or less non-stop Indian music listening for me.
Avatar 12:33pm Chris from DC:

Really need one of these shows today, cool.
Avatar 12:35pm Hubig Pie:

Must resist making crude joke about squeezing out a subcontinent. This be musical sunshine to go with me mornin' coffee
  12:36pm The Butterman:

Bought “Nadanjali” by Krishnamurti Sridhar at the record fair many years ago. It’s absolute rockstar playing.
Avatar 12:36pm Itzall Hear:

Hi Bryce, hope you're having a great Friday. Thanks for being here, wherever here is!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Carmichael:

HA HA ....
  12:41pm JakeGould:

What happened to the marbles and a blender? This is not what I expect when listening to WFMU! I shall stop listening right now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm Rory:

I know people who have had covid-19, recover and post on FB that wearing masks are dumb
  12:43pm Crei6hton:

Good afternoon
Avatar 12:50pm Bryce:

rory, that is so completely unchewable to my little pea brain. this whole situation has been so illuminating, in terms of how the contemporary american mind processes information.
Avatar 12:51pm Bryce:

jake, don't worry, i'm gonna drop a bowling ball into a lawn mower at 2
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Handy Haversack:

@Hubig, I was really proud of myself for not saying a WORD about the title "Dikshitar"!

Damn it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm zopa:

Happy Saga Dawa Duchen, Bryce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Rory:

@Bryce, fortunately my community most people get it. It’s when you get farther on into the suburbs where the “white picket assholes” rolling around in ignorance and narcissism and toetally living it!
  12:58pm jeff-m:

Hello Mr Bryce. Fancy seeing you here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Rory:

Yikes with fing auto correct! Anyway, digging the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Krys O.:

@Rory: I work in an area of Essex County, NJ that is 80% white and most of the folks I've seen in my first week back at work since being furloughed do not wear masks. They are also people who do not shovel their sidewalks when it snows. I'd have to do further research into other non-altruistic behaviors those people have, but I don't want to get near them.
Avatar 1:02pm Hubig Pie:

I admire your restraint, Mr Haversack
  1:02pm JakeGould:

@Bryce: Thank you! I would prefer you drop a bowling ball into a washing machine, but I guess you have to appeal to the lawmower libs so hey… Go for it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Rory:

@Krys O., It’s crazy! Stay safe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Krys O.:

Definitely! I wear a mask and gloves when I leave the house. Here in the office, I don't wear gloves, but I wash my hands constantly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm Handy Haversack:

Krys O., do you drive to work? Bus? Train? Er, other?
  1:16pm WM:

@Bryce & Jake: How about a bowling ball in a cement mixer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm bit rot:

are we listening to the mothership instead of Bryce or is the playlist simply out of date?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The mother of all ships.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm bit rot:

the signal from the expeditionary craft has returned.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Krys O.:

This music is lifting my spirits!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Krys O.:

@Handy: I take NJ Transit buses to commute to work.
  1:29pm Bryce:

@Handy: Let's say it's daunting.
  1:35pm The Butterman:

This is amazing.
  1:36pm The Butterman:

That’s it? It’s over?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm Carmichael:

A cannonball into a wood chipper. Please and thank you.

Loving this: Z.M. Dagar master of the rudra vina.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Handy Haversack:

Been enjoying this a lot, Bryce. I was really hoping my Bangladeshi neighbors would come out back, hear what we're listening to, and think I'm cool.

One day!
Avatar 1:47pm Bryce:

let's see if i can stay online for more than 3 minutes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm BennettCap:

Hi Bryce!
  2:15pm Kit:

As others have said, really enjoying and appreciating this show today, thank you. Throwing out a question to all, any tips for how to get better acquainted with the wide world of ragas, starting from knowing nothing? Alway enjoy hearing them, but where & how to start exploring? It's a bit overwhelming!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm Travisano66:

You can call me Piano Travisano.
  2:21pm WM:

@Kit: Yes, I'd like some suggestions, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm adrian elaine:

@Kit - this was how I've felt too. I just picked an artist or two that I really liked and then went in two directions - 1)are there accompanyists (like the tabla player) their records that plays on other artists' albums and check those out and 2)if there's a raga i particularly like, starting looking for other versions of it - Discogs was very useful for the former, some random internet searching was helpful for the latter
  2:36pm mic_impedance:

Way, way back in 1970s high school, I checked out a good book on Indian classical music -- got into the scales and forms and everything. But... I'm a blank on the title, and though I recall Ravi Shankar as being involved, I can't find anything on a quick search. So I suppose I am of little help. But thank you Bryce and Skeleton Crew! Another fine Friday afternoon.
  2:42pm Kit:

Thanks, adrian elaine and mic_impedance! It is helpful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Krys O.:

Thanks, Bryce & everyone! Be well!
Avatar 2:49pm Hubig Pie:

Thanks for squeezing out a subcontinent.
It was magical.
Avatar 2:50pm Sem:

Love Ragatime music.
See you later, Bryce, brycyclists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Handy Haversack:

Thanks, Bryce! This has been a great show. I don't mind the drops at all -- they show the falsity of time and peel back the veil of Maya.

Be well, all! Stay safe and strong.
  2:53pm mic_impedance:

Damme! I still can't find a book that rings a bell. This internet thing is vastly overrated. Thanks again and best health!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm adrian elaine:

have a good weekend everyone - take care and be safe - thanks a million for the show, Bryce
  2:57pm Ramblin' Ray:

Thanks Bryce for bringing the sublime sound of the rudra vina back to my ears courtesy of Ustad Z.M. Dagar. Best to all.
