Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm ultradamno:

RIP GPO!
  7:02pm ?:

Please play the soundtrack from Beasts of the Southern Wild. I always find it beautiful and uplifting... and I need that today!
Avatar 7:02pm CreedleBoy:

Gonna be a trippy setlist
I think, can't wait!
Avatar 7:02pm JakeGould:

Hey Devon! I just saw on Robert Longo’s Instagram the following “Terrence Malik RIP one of the truly great directors” www.instagram.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm ultradamno:

...and playwright Terrence McNally, whose work became some movies had died from corona virus complications today.
Avatar 7:04pm TDK60:

Wow, so nice to be here, often not, but my schedule changed recently..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm loveless:

I believe it's Terrence McNally, the playwright that passed today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm ultradamno:

or has, whatever.
Avatar 7:05pm JakeGould:

I wonder though if Robert Longo mixed up the two Terrence’s in his mind. Because I can’t find reported news anywhere else on Terrence Malik.
Avatar 7:06pm dale:

did he have a theremin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm ultradamno:

Me either and he's one that would show up pretty quickly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, all. More P-orridge. Very nice. Glad to hear it.
Avatar 7:12pm dale:

i could see the keno brothers hanging out in a weird scene in their youth.
Avatar 7:16pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

British Film Institute recently (15.6.2018) had a viewing of After Cease To Exist (brand new 2K scan) and others, it was called "After the Happening:
Ritual Industrial Performance SPACE Films". Has anyone here seen any copy of the film?
  7:16pm Mark C:

will this be archived anytime soon ?
great show
!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm ultradamno:

@Mark Sure, typically in a couple of hours after it's done.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm ultradamno:

...also, Fabio had an exceptional tribute archived here www.wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm mb:

Hi Devon and good peoples
Avatar 7:20pm TDK60:

..ah, it's a fittingly ominous grey-orange-blue sunset over NJ, as seen from NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm mariano:

@ultradamno - yeah, Fabio did an amazing job with that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Handy Haversack:

Last week for Fabio's? That was excellent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm queems:

this song made my cat leave the room and then i saw the title
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Handy Haversack:

@queems, we will NOT teach our cats to read. I have to maintain my slim advantage.
Avatar 7:25pm Devon E. Levins:

Yes, Fabio has some amazing GPO live sets in his archives. You must check them out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm ultradamno:

Mine just flitted out too, hmmm.
Avatar 7:26pm CreedleBoy:

this song is awesome
Avatar 7:27pm Devon E. Levins:

My cats are sleeping right through this one...
Avatar 7:27pm TDK60:

This has an Afro feel, sorta.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm ultradamno:

With a some Martin Denny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm mariano:

Got an archive of early Derek Jarman works, mostly shorts on Super 8, many with Psychic TV/GPO music (and it's easy to add music to those that are silent). If anyone's interested, PM me and I'll send you a link to the cloud folder they're on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm p20:

@TDK: Yeah, without all the polyrhythms and joyfulness
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Handy Haversack:

@mariano: await request!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm Zee:

Wow. Dig this one!
Avatar 7:33pm dale:

good stuff this whole show. thanks man!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm mariano:

Received, @Handy - you should have my info soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm Handy Haversack:

There are no hurries, @mariano.
  7:38pm Peter from Dover NJ:

Hi Devon, thanks for for keeping it going. Hello to all the islanders.
Avatar 7:41pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

@7:28 mariano: I was present when Throbbing Gristle performed a live soundtrack to In The Shadow Of The Sun and other Jarman movies at Tate Modern Turbine Hall in London, weirdly I do not remember In The Shadow Of The Sun, only the other movies. there was a choir conducted by conducted by Hildur Guðnadóttir. HUGE natural reverb because of the space. If it is OK, I will PM you about the link
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm ultradamno:

Is none of the footage in this video for the movie? www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm mariano:

Man, I envy you that one, @Photocopy! Got your request, sent the link to the email it provided, lemme know if you don't get it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm Siriusly:

ca. 1980 I would carry my TG records around religiously like bibles. Maybe you could play some some of the oldies. Regardless, loving the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Siriusly:

This death cuts deep
Avatar 7:53pm Devon E. Levins:

Thanks for listening and the comments, All! Although it is a huge bummer to continually lose all of these musical and cinematic heroes, I do enjoy the opportunity to revisit and highlight some of their most interesting and often overlooked works.
Avatar 7:53pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

thanks mariano! Don't envy me, like I said, not many memories of the films, i was at the very back of the turbine hall (i seem to remember it as an entrance to the tate modern), it was like a ramp, people sitting on cushions. i do remember a short film in the end of the set, with (most likely) gay men dancing on a roof(top??- could remember this wrong) while TG played somewhat jazzy music to this.
  7:54pm ron-ji:

This is the GPO tribute I have been waiting for. Thank you so much.
Avatar 7:54pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

heh, this New York Story track sounds funnily enough very similar to Spacemen 3/spiritualized
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Handy Haversack:

@Devon, it's wonderful. A lot is still new or seldom-heard to me. Sounds effing great! Thanks for doing it!
Avatar 7:56pm Devon E. Levins:

Thanks Olivia!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm olivia:

thanks for the great tribute Devon! was great to listen to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm mariano:

Thanks Devon!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm Handy Haversack:

You BOARD OPS, Olivia? Thanks! Managed to catch most of your MoMC fill-in. Great!
Avatar 8:00pm Photocopy Cha Cha:

thanks very much Devon, best of luck and good health to you all!
