coming your way in a little under five minutes
Avatar 1:59pm Davee:

I'm ready
Avatar 1:59pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Davee!
  2:00pm Martinibomb:

Hello Darryl
Avatar 2:00pm worldsworstrecords:

Hey MB!
Avatar 2:00pm worldsworstrecords:

And we're off!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm Rich in Washington:

Do your worst! I'm ready!
Avatar 2:01pm worldsworstrecords:

something a bit different today - 66 shows in and I finally brought in a guest
Avatar 2:03pm worldsworstrecords:

...and hey Rich!
Avatar 2:06pm Davee:

leaky wellies are the worst
Avatar 2:06pm worldsworstrecords:

aren't they just?
Avatar 2:09pm worldsworstrecords:

This must have been a super-early tribute: it has El' buried at Forest Lawn rather than at Graceland
Avatar 2:10pm worldsworstrecords:

Forest Hills, sorry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Rich in Washington:

Wonderfully awful!
Avatar 2:12pm worldsworstrecords:

wasn't it just?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Rich in Washington:

My favorite old joke: Q: Why was Elvis buried in his own backyard like a family hamster?
A: He was too fat to flush down the toilet like a goldfish.
Avatar 2:13pm worldsworstrecords:

hahahahaha! Love it!
Avatar 2:14pm Davee:

I'm moving away now . . . .
Avatar 2:15pm worldsworstrecords:

a lot of early British rock and roll was of dubious quality
Avatar 2:16pm worldsworstrecords:

Brit listeners with know Knowles from the hit TV show DIY SOS... his piss-poor Tom Waits imitation is just ghastly
Avatar 2:17pm worldsworstrecords:

I think this album sold about 12 copies
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Rich in Washington:

Oh man. Contemporary badness! Truly hideous. Great find! We often overlook the crap stuff that's directly under our noses.
Avatar 2:18pm worldsworstrecords:

It's vile... bilious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Rich in Washington:

I put out a call for music submissions on my old radio show's blog and station website, really wanting more music to play, but one of my tertiary aims was to also see if I'd get assailed by horrible music. Sadly, this wasn't necessarily what happened. Oh well.
Avatar 2:20pm worldsworstrecords:

sadly a lot of it is just mediocre
Avatar 2:21pm worldsworstrecords:

yay! My first every studio guest!
  2:22pm Martinibomb:

I'm with him. I think "bad music" is just misunderstood
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Rich in Washington:

I wonder if bad music has to ferment for a decade or so before it can be truly appreciated as such, like some pungent exotic cheese. For some reason, I don't have an ear for current badness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah, the word 'bad' is so subjective.
  2:23pm Martinibomb:

I always kinda thought that too @rich it's like shitty grapes that turn into wine over time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Rich in Washington:

I love Shooby's energy. I close my KBOO show with Shooby as my outro music.
Avatar 2:24pm worldsworstrecords:

I think you may be right Rich
Avatar 2:24pm worldsworstrecords:

he was extraordinary, wasn't he?
Avatar 2:24pm Davee:

OOFAH
Avatar 2:25pm worldsworstrecords:

If you liked Oli's version of Foot Foot i encourage you to check out his other work at olispleen.bandcamp.com
Avatar 2:26pm Davee:

Foot foot is a good name for a cat
Avatar 2:26pm worldsworstrecords:

His 2019 album Gaslight Illuminations is one of my favourite albums of last year
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Rich in Washington:

I love this album so much!
Avatar 2:28pm worldsworstrecords:

It's an essential part of any record collection
Avatar 2:28pm Davee:

It hurts
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Rich in Washington:

Get past the hurt, Davee! It'll grow on you! Like a fungus!
Avatar 2:29pm worldsworstrecords:

...or genital warts
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Rich in Washington:

sure. your mileage may vary, as they say... But grow on you it will!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Rich in Washington:

I wish I could find the article I read many years ago about some guy who found The Shaggs' actual guitars in a New Hampshire junk store.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Queen of my heart and soul! Florence! Howdy, Darryl and fellow sufferers. xoxox
Avatar 2:32pm worldsworstrecords:

My FloFoJen... Goddess!
Avatar 2:32pm Davee:

Mrs Miller's sister?
Avatar 2:32pm worldsworstrecords:

Hey GST!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Mrs. Miller's mother
Avatar 2:32pm worldsworstrecords:

Probably old enough to be her aunt
Avatar 2:34pm worldsworstrecords:

I LOVE HER
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Jan Turkenburg:

Great show and inspiring guest, Darryl.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Avatar 2:36pm worldsworstrecords:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

ETERNAL GODDESSES, indeed, Darryl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Rich in Washington:

oh yeah!
Avatar 2:38pm Davee:

Oh yeah, baby
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

I'll never forget the first time i heard Mrs. Miller, though by all rights i shouldn't be able to.
Avatar 2:39pm worldsworstrecords:

You never forget your first kiss, and you never forget first hearing Mrs. Miller's Greatest Hits
Avatar 2:40pm worldsworstrecords:

Dr Demento has a lot to answer for...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Daniel! Another true love. I am visiting Austin soon and plan to make a pilgrimage to his Hi, How Are You mural. <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Rich in Washington:

he really does, wwr!
Avatar 2:42pm worldsworstrecords:

I only added this in at the last minute.. I had another track lined up but realised about 20 minutes before we went on air that it was by Daniel Johnson, not Johnston!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Rich in Washington:

my only real Daniel Johnston moment was sort of a Sasquatch-like sighting of him walking in and later out of the station where someone had recorded an interview with him.
Avatar 2:44pm Davee:

Somehow I like this one . . . I guess any song about pickles is good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Rich in Washington:

I had no idea Troy Hess was so prolific!
Avatar 2:45pm worldsworstrecords:

Oh Rich.. dozens of 45s. He's still recording today
Avatar 2:46pm worldsworstrecords:

We were friends for a while but fell out over his rather questionable politics
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Rich in Washington:

Geez. And we worry about the Corona-Virus.
Avatar 2:46pm worldsworstrecords:

LOL!
Avatar 2:50pm worldsworstrecords:

Just two more songs after this, then its over to Georgy's
Avatar 2:50pm worldsworstrecords:

www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 2:51pm Davee:

Not bad, this one isn't bombing like the Bob Harter one.
Avatar 2:51pm worldsworstrecords:

It's the lyrics that make it for me
Avatar 2:51pm Davee:

Great show as usual Darryl
  2:51pm Martinibomb:

Thanks to you and your guest for the great show today!
Avatar 2:52pm worldsworstrecords:

Cheers Davee and MB!
Avatar 2:53pm worldsworstrecords:

the next, and last, track is something rather wonderful
Avatar 2:55pm worldsworstrecords:

that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed tonight's show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Rich in Washington:

WOW!
Avatar 2:55pm worldsworstrecords:

She's my new obsession
  2:56pm Martinibomb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Rich in Washington:

I can see why!
Avatar 2:56pm worldsworstrecords:

just wonderful
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Ahhh, the music of my peoples—freaks and far out folx just flinging it out there! Thank you for the life-affirming show!
Avatar 2:57pm worldsworstrecords:

Cheers GST!
Avatar 2:57pm Mr Fab:

Thx Darryl, haven't been around to comment. (so many divorce tear-jerkers, THAT could probly be a weekly theme, like the Death Disk, & Singing Actors...)
Avatar 2:57pm worldsworstrecords:

haha! Thanks Mr F!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Rich in Washington:

Wonderful show and I loved the guest segment! Will be sure to check out Oli's music. I've followed his Bandcamp page.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Rich in Washington:

I see this album was reissued on Arf-Arf. Isn't that Irwin's label?
Avatar 2:58pm worldsworstrecords:

That's great news Rich - please check out Gaslight Illuminations, it's brilliant
Avatar 2:59pm worldsworstrecords:

That's right Rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Avatar 2:59pm worldsworstrecords:
