Into the orange ...
  3:02pm Listener Robert:

I see by WFMU's main page that you already know WMFU is down. I was already offline, trying to get The World's Worst Records on Sheena's Jungle, which required a remote reset by Service Electric Cable of Sparta, using up that whole hour, then I turned on the radio to dead air, felt like I couldn't win.
3:04pm listener phillip in bronx little italy:

Afternoon Irwin:) KEN left you plenty of Brit-Pop songs to play. so lets get on with it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Handy Haversack:

Afternoon, all. Sounds like a miserable time, Listener Robert. Talk about trouble with the modern world.
  3:05pm Listener Robert:

Will your selections today be quick and smartly?

Steak and carrot muffins? Irwin, are you in luck! I have a muffin recipe that calls for 100% chuck and includes chopped carrots in the batter. I could bake you up a batch. (Some call it "meatloaf.")

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Handy Haversack:

Irwin, I e-mailed Scott about coming to help near the end of Marathon but have not heard back. Should I assume it's on his list already or poke him again?

Avatar 4:22pm Irwin:

AP: She was ID'ed as Kurstin on this album, so be it. But yeah, she's been a Stickney for a while.
Avatar 4:22pm Irwin:

Handy: re-poke. Maybe you got spam-filtered.
Avatar 4:23pm Sketch:

Wow I thought this might have been Atom and his package by the sound of the voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Handy Haversack:

Will do. Thanks, Irwin. Every since they put me in this nifty can, I get mistaken for Spam (a lot ...).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Aw, man! The stream just gets a moment of dead air instead of the noble EAS tone.
  4:25pm Multi-scopic sensation:

this trak is awesome
Avatar 4:25pm Monica:

Irwin, had to go back and check (because gray cell diminishment) but I was the one who made the mistake of choosing Heartbreaker for Hoof-N-Mouth in 2004. And yes - deceptively difficult! Thank goodness you were there on drums. Never heard the demo - an excellent song in skilled hands:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I submit this from NewHampshuh for comparison re the vinyl fetish :youtu.be...
Avatar 4:28pm Irwin:

Mo: I barely knew the song at the time but became a big fan of it. Sounds simple, but ain't.
  4:28pm thelma blitz:

Jeff Lewis, The Disease of LPs, new albulm, Bad Wiring. Great song, common affliction.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm The Oscar:

Can attest: getting into vinyl as a teenager in the late '90s was AWESOME. I can remember buying original press Mothers of Invention albums because I didn't want to shell out for the CDs. Pure madness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Handy Haversack:

@The Oscar, that's awesome. I couldn't quite afford to go deep when I was younger -- and def. would have lost them all before now! But I remember feeling the call ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Phillippe Bastille:

Nice cover
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Michael 98145:

Jose Depp.
Avatar 4:35pm Irwin:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm G:

Jose Canyusea Bythe Donzerly Light?

Trifecta would be fine, very fine.
Avatar 4:38pm Roberto:

Yep make that three great covers.
4:39pm listener phillip in bronx little italy:

YEAH BABY!!! SCRAWL i love that band and that song
  4:44pm Listener Robert:

I'm trying to think of the name of the piece this is a minor-key version of. Maybe it goes by the same name.
Avatar 4:48pm βrian:

Waiting nightmares, they never die.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Otis Fodder:

Amanda just visits me in my dreams and screams about your show.
  4:51pm wendy del formaggio:

Irwin, take it from me, DJs at other stations also have DJ anxiety dreams. Mine usually go like this: the song is about to end and suddenly I am ACROSS TOWN, miles from the studio! Aaack! Dead air!
Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Andrew_in_WI:

Ooh, this one is fire!
Avatar 4:52pm Irwin:

Wendy: And you're NEKKID!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Is it me - or did Blakey just fold Ginger Baker into something tiny & put him in his back pocket. (& I like Baker.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You mean - DJs aren't nekkid - ??
  4:53pm wendy del formaggio:

Irwin, that part doesn’t bother me. You can be nekkid on the radio! (Wasn’t that a NLRH song?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Wendy... and when you do get to the studio, it's the smooth jazz station!
Avatar 4:55pm Irwin:

Blakey's greatest handicap is that he only had two arms and two legs.
Avatar 4:55pm βrian:

A customer asks for a fork, and when you go to fetch it, you get lost in a maze of hallways.
  4:55pm John from Florham park:

Hello fellow Irwin listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Otis Fodder:

... only to emerge with a spoon.
  4:56pm wendy del formaggio:

Otis! My long-lost, far-flung friend! Yes, the nightmare does often include the wrong format. And dead air! Aaack!
Avatar 4:56pm βrian:

... and it's dirty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I reckoned DJs are in genarole nekkid & in the dark...cause that's how I basically listen...Questions: NONE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

All roads lead to Python. More or less.

  5:02pm John from Florham park:

@Handy pretty goid been listening off and on mostly lurking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Handy Haversack:

I came home and worked from here this afternoon for dog-liberation purposes. Glued the "r" back on the laptop keyboard. Mixed results.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm rsj:

  5:06pm John from Florham park:

@Handy sounds like fun

Love this song very underrated group from back in the day
  5:34pm Reno D:

Thanks Irwin, for turning me on to the young genius Jonathan Something a few weeks ago. He’s headed my personal playlist ever since.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Passaic River Blues:

@Reno D: I purchased a Jonathan Something album as a Christmas present for my dad after hearing a track played by Irwin last November or December. Interesting stuff.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:
