Hi. Had to do a quick check to make sure Maria Bamford was still alive. *whew*
Listener Phillip In Bronx Little Italy:

What Duane just said "irwin is in the restroom having bad bowel movements needs a break"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm

Irwin, the visual stimuli are hilarious. Thanks for the guffaw.

@G - It's a Solstice film, obvs The planetary orbit is the reason for the season, and don't you forget it.
Listener Phillip In Bronx Little Italy:

this sounds like the end music to one of my fav movies from the 70's "mother juggs and speed"

I found on the archive that you have played the Foo Fighters, can that be true?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm

A number of times.

Good band. I started to like those guys after they jettisoned their original singer.

Greetings, sir

There's a certain jury I'd like to see hung today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm

Hola, Marcos Hurstavo!

New wire has sweet bass

you can indeed saute them. over a thousand groundhogs, one looked particularly tasty to me, so he got julienned. not bad at all. irwin is right about "damn groundhogs" though: they are a pest
Avatar 🎸 3:36pm

Ya gotta love woodchucks, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm

Are hamsters kosher?

Andie McDowell thinks groundhogs are cute; that's good enuff for me

ISWYDT @3:37 Irwin. I myself was wondering whether ground hog is what we use to make sausage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm

"Chicago" Hamilton. Damn auto-entry.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
Phillippe Bastille:

I have a new smoker. Can anyone point me to a decent smoked groundhog recipe? I'm expecting they would taste kind of earthy
Keith from Oregon:

Ground hog is best roasted with root vegetables. You have to roast it long enough to render the fat. It's almost sweet, about the best meat I've ever had, courtesy of my grandmother. She could make a meal out of anything.
Avatar 3:49pm

I watched "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood" on groundhog day and later realized I had been watching Andie MacDowell's daughter. It was freaky.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Phillippe Bastille:

@Keith at what temp and for how long? Doesn't sound like an Instapot deal
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm

keith - better than squirrel?
Avatar 3:51pm

The guy from Every Mother's Son is now a local area dentist (Woodstock); I hear his ads on WDST for "Trancen-Dental" all the time.
Also: today is Al Koopers' birthday; he's 76.

Horace Silver one of the more high-standing members of Connecticut’s musical heritage
Avatar 4:06pm
Listening Out There:

Finally watched the Blue Note documentary and was surprised that Horace Silver wasn't featured more. He's been such a key part of that label's sound...

fox squirrel is way better than whistlepig, you need 4 big red nut munchers to make a good stew. use any spicy beef stew recipe. for woodchuck, having sauteed it, better to braise indoors. with a smoker: treat same as chicken or rabbit. I should be charging for this content..

@tullius - maybe you can get guest spot on Steve Raichlen's show.
Listener Robert:

I keep forgetting -- did we ever settle whether "Come and Get It" was about that Brody guy giving away money?
Avatar 4:13pm

Don't eat roadkill !! The meat is often riddled with tiny bone fragments, too small to see.

@berbo - nah
@jack - do you think butchers use bandsaws?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm
Handy Haversack:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm

Mo, who wrote this song?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:40pm
Phillippe Bastille:

She fell off a Wikipedia cliff in 2006. Her website doesn't have anything newer than '06 either. There appears to be a credible UFO sighting in November of 2006, so maybe there's a connection.
Avatar 4:46pm

Well, it's official. There is no justice, just us: twitter.com...

@Carmichael right now trying to make any kind of statement about that clusterfuck in DC

An elite choice of artwork today, DJ. Just got a good chuckle after i read the line of the bloke on the ground. Does it make me a bad person that i interpret the woman with the walking stick to be laughing?

Microdisney is something you don't hear often, thanks. Maybe sometimes on BBC, but... High Llamas are also one of my faves (Sean O' Hagan was in both bands, or?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm

When I aired Microdisney in the 1980s, everybody seemed to hate them. So I aired more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm

I was in transit for Chris Lightcap to Sun Organ, but the show is going out hot! Even without a reliable extremometer, I feel confident saying it's extreme! Thanks, Irwin.

I did not hate Microdisney and I was only 10 years when I heard "And He Descended Into Hell" from finnish radio in 1987
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm
