Hi BC and Otis and hi everyone else!
Avatar 2:02pm Mod Mokka Matti:

I'll accept the bronze medal then...
Avatar 2:02pm Otis Fodder:

We still have copper and aluminum medals to hand out. Who's up!
Avatar 2:03pm Sem:

Hello, Jan, and the thousands singing.
Avatar 2:04pm Otis Fodder:

BC gave me this record, Zounds, like 20 years ago, or maybe it was 10. Could have 40. It's a blur... nonetheless danke BC!
Avatar 2:04pm BC Sterrett:

You're welcome :)
Avatar 2:05pm Otis Fodder:

Let the chorus' guide me today as I muster through work. Listening in the backdrop with toes ready to tap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi MMM!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Sem!
Avatar 2:11pm Mod Mokka Matti:

Hello Jan! It's just as well that there will be no GIFs today. I can sympathize with you, as I'm contending with a bad allergy attack, affecting my eyes more than usual - which is making it a challenge to look at anything. Thankfully, my hearing is okay. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm Jan Turkenburg:

See? Everything happens with a reason! ;) ;) ;)
Avatar 2:16pm Linda Lee:

hi Jan!! love the 'Neerlands Hoop'! is this not 'Walk on the North Side'?
Avatar 2:16pm Otis Fodder:

Walk on the North Side, yes! Hi Linda Lee!
Avatar 2:17pm Linda Lee:

hi Otis! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, they recorded an album with songs that were all a pastiche of a 50/60s Dutch hit and a international 70s hit.
Avatar 2:18pm Linda Lee:

care to translate a little bit, Jan? what did Peter do? do do da do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Jan Turkenburg:

I will play them all in time.
Avatar 2:18pm Linda Lee:

sounds lovely.
Avatar 2:18pm Mod Mokka Matti:

I was not familiar with this, but heard the backup singers, and instantly thought of Lou.
Avatar 2:18pm Otis Fodder:

Yes, really enjoying Peter.
Avatar 2:19pm Sem:

Seems the *sax solo* of a certain character was a decade-defining embellishment not forgotten.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Jan Turkenburg:

Peter is not like the other guys. He isn't interested in girls. Peter, peter don't you see, I'm sick of sadness. Can't you see I'm in love?
Avatar 2:20pm Linda Lee:

wow!!! so Peter likes peter better?
Avatar 2:21pm Otis Fodder:

Jan, could recommend an album to start with for Peter?
Avatar 2:21pm Otis Fodder:

Sorry, or rather for Neerlands Hoop to start with.
Avatar 2:22pm Otis Fodder:

Wow, they have so much to dig into (newbie here), www.discogs.com...
Avatar 2:22pm Linda Lee:

with Jan's show I'm always a newbie. :-)
Avatar 2:24pm Linda Lee:

good luck with the gig, Jan! I like what they do. :-)
Avatar 2:24pm Otis Fodder:

...whew yes, and Jason's show before this one too.
Avatar 2:24pm Domenic:

Looking forward to the Choirs! Heaven.
Avatar 2:25pm Linda Lee:

wow. I don't think I've heard 'Boots" by a chorus before!
Avatar 2:25pm Otis Fodder:

I think I need to devour this one. All covers from the 60s. Thanks Jan for the comedic turn-on from Holland! www.discogs.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Jan Turkenburg:

@Linda. This one is mine to blame ;)
Avatar 2:26pm Linda Lee:

love it. :-D
Avatar 2:27pm Mr Fab:

These school band covers are so great.
Avatar 2:28pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 2:28pm Otis Fodder:

Lovin' it.
Avatar 2:28pm Linda Lee:

this song is magic. it's impossible not to love life when i hear it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm Jan Turkenburg:

This one I got nothing to do with ... I wish I had ...
Avatar 2:29pm Linda Lee:

wait! did you mean you were in the room for the Popkoor Muzerie?
Avatar 2:31pm worldsworstrecords:

Loving this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Darryl
Avatar 2:31pm Mr Fab:

When I was buying some lounge and private press records at my local record store the other day, the owner was reminded of an album that came in recently, a school band with the trumpet player playing the guitar parts of Stairway to Heaven backed by an out of-tune marching band . Never thought I would want to hear a cover of Stairway to Heaven so bad, but he wouldn't sell it to me! He did take my number in case he decides to give in.
Avatar 2:32pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Jan! Hi everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32pm Jan Turkenburg:

@Linda. I wrote the arrangement for that one
Avatar 2:32pm Linda Lee:

beautiful! it sounded great! :-)
Avatar 2:32pm worldsworstrecords:

dipping in and out while I work, before babysitting Georgy's show later
Avatar 2:33pm worldsworstrecords:

That sounds right up my strasse, Mr F
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Jan Turkenburg:

I sang this song on stage when I was 12
Avatar 2:33pm Linda Lee:

you're babysitting the Flange? is Georgy ok?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Jan Turkenburg:

It's a tradition to end the primary school with a musical
Avatar 2:34pm worldsworstrecords:

Hi Linda: yes. She's ok, just a touch of flu
Avatar 2:35pm BC Sterrett:

I'll be doing a show with lots of school records involved soon!
Avatar 2:35pm Linda Lee:

ah. ok .i think she's been fighting that one for a little while now. I guess it finally caught her.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Jan Turkenburg:

I'm looking forward to that BC!
Avatar 2:36pm Linda Lee:

me too! :-)
Avatar 2:37pm Linda Lee:

now i'd like to know if there's any way i can go to Dutch primary school.
Avatar 2:38pm Linda Lee:

ooh! here comes 'love is blue'!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Jan Turkenburg:

Does anyone else feel uneasy with a 12 year old singing: "i've had so many men before"
Avatar 2:43pm Linda Lee:

not til just now, Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Jan Turkenburg:

But as a kid you're4 completely unaware of the meaning of the songs you sing in church anyway... I know....
Avatar 2:45pm Linda Lee:

we're all coerced into saying weird things there.. yes .. acceptable because it's .. 'spiritual' ..
Avatar 2:49pm BC Sterrett:

This Zorn track is amazing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Jan Turkenburg:

in fact I know her. It was a choir I used to conduct. successor recorded this CD with them. The girl now is a music teacher/ primary school teacher (and mother) herself
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, i've decided not to bother about time of year anymore. This chapter of Ton was next in the row.
Avatar 2:54pm Linda Lee:

wow. that was some time back then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Jan Turkenburg:

@Linda she's still very young, but in her late twenties I think... That's how time flies...
Avatar 2:56pm Otis Fodder:

Love the show today Jan, have to run out for errands, but will be back on Sheena's later today, maybe during GG's show. Have a great next hour!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Jan Turkenburg:

No she must be at least 35! Oh man....
Avatar 2:57pm Linda Lee:

yes, I know. :-)
Avatar 2:58pm worldsworstrecords:

it's all gone quiet...
Avatar 2:59pm Mod Mokka Matti:

Oo Oh.
Avatar 2:59pm Linda Lee:

isn't this' the teddy bear's picnic'?
Avatar 2:59pm worldsworstrecords:

just a blip
Avatar 3:00pm worldsworstrecords:

That's exactly what i thought, Linda!
Avatar 3:00pm Mod Mokka Matti:

This reminds me that I should still get my trusty old Bass Clarinet overhauled so I can play it again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm Jan Turkenburg:

Avatar 3:03pm Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm chresti:

That pic is me in the 7th grade.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Chresti!
Avatar 3:04pm Linda Lee:

which one are you, chresti? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Jan Turkenburg:

This soloist will be back later
Avatar 3:06pm Linda Lee:

I think I'm the 3rd row back, second from left.. the one hiding behind her classmate's head.
Avatar 3:07pm worldsworstrecords:

probably just a blip at my end, Jan. Nothing to worry about
Avatar 3:08pm Linda Lee:

I really like he 4 blue hands, Jan!
Avatar 3:08pm Linda Lee:

'the' 4 blue hands! my texting is atrocious!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm chresti:

The one in the middle-right, 3rd row, except I wasn't wearing my glasses and not as tall.
Avatar 3:09pm Linda Lee:

you're much taller than I am. :-D
Avatar 3:10pm Linda Lee:

even if you're shorter than that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm chresti:

The louder ones go in the back rows.
Avatar 3:12pm Mr Fab:

Nice to hear the Danny Elfman in January for a change. After all, It's Halloween all year around here at Sheena's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, it's all holidays always overhere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm chresti:

I'm down with year-round Halloween!
Avatar 3:17pm Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm melinda:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm Jan Turkenburg:

  3:28pm ParUbi’s phone □ □ □ □:

Heya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi ParUbi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Jan Turkenburg:

  3:30pm Aaron in Minneapolis:

I’m visiting there March 11th!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Jan Turkenburg:

Tell us all about it, by then!
Avatar 3:31pm worldsworstrecords:

This reminds me of Wir Bauen ein Neue Stadt or however its spelled.. I guess it's from the same period?
Avatar 3:32pm Mod Mokka Matti:

I have to go lie down - dang eyes. Will continue to keep my ears open, however.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Jan Turkenburg:

You really should ask Marco, Darryl. It's not my speciality.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hope you feel better soon, MMM
Avatar 3:37pm Linda Lee:

hold on. is it 'spreaded'? no, i think it's 'spread'.
Avatar 3:37pm Linda Lee:

the past tense of 'spread' is 'spread'. yes?
Avatar 3:38pm Linda Lee:

'darkness spread over the town as the sun set'. yes, spread ~ and set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Jan Turkenburg:

ok, thanks for setting me straight about that. I knew, but I seem to be too nervous about my english during the show, so I'm forgetting things
Avatar 3:39pm Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar 3:47pm Linda Lee:

I think only Paul is a allowed to hit that note. it's a natural law, like gravity.
Avatar 3:47pm Domenic:

Thank you Jan! I want to be Dutch when I grow up!
Avatar 3:47pm Linda Lee:

I'm still figuring out a way to go to Dutch primary school.
