Hello everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm redkayak:

Good afternoon/evening all. I'm at the station on time for once!
Avatar 3:01pm βrian:

Whether to Leipzig or to Rightzig ...
Avatar 3:02pm David D:

Greetings Phillippe, Cmurtha, Redkayak, βrian - you got that ripe!
Avatar 3:02pm coelacanth∅))):

quite a conundrum for the zigzag wanderer
Avatar 3:03pm coelacanth∅))):

- greetings David!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Phillippe Bastille:

(sigh) once again I have the wrong stream playing and wondering why the advertised song sounds wrong...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm doctorjazz:

Don't think I've heard this White Rabbit before, cool.
Hi, travellers!
Avatar 3:04pm David D:

Heya Coel - yes, actually one of the less difficult slalom courses confronting cyclists in these parts.
Avatar 3:04pm David D:

Hey Doctorjazz - yes the pre-JA original.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm CHUCK ROAST:

Ooowee....ain't heard this in a while.
Avatar 3:06pm Sem:

Hello and good evening, David, and greets to all aboard.
Avatar 3:07pm David D:

Hey there Sem and Chuck!
Avatar 3:09pm βrian:

I always hated having to wear a dickie.
Avatar 3:18pm David D:

βrian: Can't say I ever wore one myself - although maybe I'll look for one for next week's show.
Avatar 3:21pm βrian:

It's all one needs to wear, really.
Avatar 3:26pm βrian:

... on the radio, I mean.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Phillippe Bastille:

Good for covering hickies, the dickie. The hickie dickie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm redkayak:

I built a model Stuka when I was a kid :)
Avatar 3:32pm βrian:

I got a flying Stuka for my birthday. My older brother crashed it to smithereens that very day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm redkayak:

@Brian - Older brothers are known for that. Mine was a balsa wood model. It was pretty intricate, but too fragile to survive around the likes of me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm redkayak:

....It wasn't a version meant for flight :)
Avatar 3:36pm βrian:

This one, I think:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm redkayak:

Wow. Sweet. I liked the gull wings on the Stuka...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm ParUbi:

Hello everyone
Avatar 3:39pm David D:

Hello ParUbi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm ParUbi:

Is the Flying Saucer Attack track a tribute to that band? I missed it, unfortunately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm ParUbi:

Just realized it can't be and must be the other way around (1978!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Phillippe Bastille:

The Baltimore Consort is still going strong, apparently
Avatar 3:48pm David D:

ParUbi, yeah the track is more of a good old sci-fi tribute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm chresti:

Hello David and fellow passengers! Home from work..
Avatar 3:52pm David D:

Hey Chresti!
Avatar 3:54pm David D:

Hi David.
Yay for Shooglenifty, Edinburgh's finest.
Avatar 3:54pm David D:

Good evening, Stanley!
Avatar 4:03pm βrian:

On one of our main bike paths, here in Madison, an automatic counter is set up. It's interesting to see how the counts fluctuate with the extremes of weather.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Michael 98145:

aloha, DD, all
Avatar 4:05pm David D:

βrian: Great idea - I never heard of a cyclist counter.
Avatar 4:06pm David D:

Greetings, Michael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Phillippe Bastille:

anyone else getting an occasional bright flash on their message board?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Michael 98145:

@PB, i think that is just part of the screen refreshing
Avatar 4:07pm David D:

PB: That seems to happen sometimes when it refreshes, or do you mean something else?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Michael 98145:

it's just more noticeable with a darker background color
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Phillippe Bastille:

Seems to happen when the screen content is static, and it doesn't do it when new content is added. Weird.

Avatar 4:14pm David D:

Hello Gary!
  4:20pm Gary via app:

That previous (German?) track sounded very Brian Jonestown Massacre
Avatar 4:20pm northguineahills:

Just got home from work, I took the brown.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Michael 98145:

lotsa biking going on
Avatar 4:21pm David D:

Hey NGH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Phillippe Bastille:

You found some work, NGH? Something you were looking for?
Avatar 4:24pm northguineahills:

nope, Phillippe, just seasonal work at UPS. Body surprisingly holding up. By far the oldest lad there...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Michael 98145:

( web xlate sez: Delivery receipt )
Avatar 4:25pm Listening Out There:

NGH: I used to have a neighbor that worked for UPS, and called them the Freight Nazis... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Phillippe Bastille:

Ah. Hoping something you want comes soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Phillippe Bastille:

My son lasted about 3 weeks there. He was manic at the time and he still couldn't keep up with the unloading
Avatar 4:27pm βrian:

@Listening: Well, they are brownshirts, anyway.
Avatar 4:28pm northguineahills:

Just wearing my wfmu shirts, no brown. Mostly everyone is age 18-25. I'm 43, but after my staph infection, this seemed like a good idea to get my musculature back....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm Asheville Jon:

thanks for all the bicycle songs, they have been great!
Avatar 4:30pm David D:

Greetings LOT and Jon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm ParUbi:

I bet those brown shirts must drink a lot of coffee
Avatar 4:38pm David D:

Oh, and thanks Jon - my pleasure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm Phillippe Bastille:

I take it you are the only one with the fast food FMU shirt?
Avatar 4:44pm northguineahills:

@Phillippe, unfortunately, that one is already becoming threadbare....
Avatar 4:46pm David D:

That is a great shirt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Phillippe Bastille:

It is! I didn't wear it that much when I got it because I was portly and it looked like it represented my lifestyle a little too much. I'm almost 70 pounds lighter and now it's a deliciously ironic fashion statement.
Avatar 4:58pm David D:

That is great, Phillippe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Michael 98145:

time to repent!

Avatar 5:05pm David D:

Yes, the Day of Prayer and Repentance is an odd sort of public holiday - and only in Saxony.
Avatar 5:05pm Listening Out There:

Whew. 70 pounds...that's fantastic...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Phillippe Bastille:

Thanks! I like to refer to it as 280 sticks of butter.
Avatar 5:14pm coelacanth∅))):

i don't remember a fast-food wfmu shirt. maybe i didn't get one; or maybe i just don't remember. i've never thrown out a wfmu shirt -even if i never liked it and it was falling apart.
but some have disappeared.
Avatar 5:16pm David D:

I believe it was an October shirt a few years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm doctorjazz:

Don't Queen have a bicycle song? Bicycle Race?
Avatar 5:17pm coelacanth∅))):

that makes sense. i think i've only donated twice in the autumn and only once enough for a tshirt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Phillippe Bastille:

I think they still have a few in the store
Avatar 5:27pm coelacanth∅))):

i like that..."280 sticks of butter"!
i've got a few sticks of butter i'd like to part with. just a few but it bothers me. up until less than 5 years ago i could eat and drink any amount of calories and it wouldn't show. working in the health field i was often reminded of how fortunate i was and felt terrible for people who seemed to gain 5 pounds if they ate 1/2 a cookie.
- not any more! doctor thinks my thyroid is messed up.
Avatar 5:29pm Listening Out There:

Other bikey tunes that come to mind...Kraftwerk's "Tour de France"...soundtrack for Triplets of Belleville...
Avatar 5:29pm Sem:

Inspired theme this evening, DD. Enjoying very much.
Avatar 5:36pm coelacanth∅))):

well, of course "bicycle" by pink floyd -one of their best songs
(and queen, but i'll have to turn on something else if that comes on!)
Avatar 5:38pm David D:

Thanks Sem!
Avatar 5:38pm David D:

Yes, I had the Queen song stuck in my head a lot of the past week - didn't want to do that to you.
Avatar 5:39pm coelacanth∅))):

at least one listener appreciates that!
Avatar 5:40pm βrian:

We used to sing an adaptation of a Monty Python song:

"I like bicycles, I like bicycles ...
"... sometimes they're green, sometimes they're yellow ..."
"I like bicycles, I like bicycles ..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Phillippe Bastille:

My bride is that 5 pounds per 1/2 a cookie person. Can't get her to realize it takes a lifestyle change to make a big difference. Counting calories alone will drive you nuts and wear you out. For me it was cutting out drinking anything with calories (sorry liquor store owner Kevin), only eating over an 8 hour period and taking a walk when I could. Took a little discipline but not a lot of thought.
Avatar 5:42pm coelacanth∅))):

oh, duh the pink floyd song is called "bike", not "bicycle"
...but maybe that one's too pedestrian for this show anyway
Avatar 5:42pm βrian:

@PB: This I read as I dip into a lovely Beaujolais? Bah!
Avatar 5:44pm coelacanth∅))):

Phillippe still it's an achievement. congratulations!
i know how challenging it is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Phillippe Bastille:

Avatar 5:45pm coelacanth∅))):

i need to cut out the jameson whiskey/lemon-ginger-echinacea juice...in the quantities that i'm capable of!
...and i need to walk.
Avatar 5:46pm Sem:

My stop. See and hear you next time round the track, G'night, all.
Avatar 5:46pm βrian:

@coel: Just to gargle with, right?
  5:46pm Santos L Halper:

This Souleyman is fab, thanks David.
Avatar 5:47pm βrian:

Keep away from the chumbo, Sem.
Avatar 5:47pm David D:

Have a good night, Sem!
Avatar 5:47pm David D:

Hey Santos, my pleasure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm Phillippe Bastille:

@Brian yeah, giving up alcohol was the hard part. Killed a couple friendships, to be honest.
  5:54pm Santos L Halper:

And this Zorn, yow! Medeski and Ribot I see...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm chresti:

I'd like to hear that Souleyman track again..
Avatar 5:55pm David D:

Yes, heavy lineup!
Avatar 5:56pm βrian:

An inspiring but perhaps nsfw bicycling image:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Phillippe Bastille:

Scandalous! She needs a helmet!
Avatar 5:59pm βrian:

I worry for the violin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Phillippe Bastille:

There was a violin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm chresti:

Man, what a backbone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Stanley:

Great music but I have to turn in.
Til next time, David and thanks.
Avatar 6:05pm βrian:

Speaking of backbone, how 'bout those hearings?
Avatar 6:06pm David D:

Thanks, Stanley, have a good night!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm chresti:

oye! The hearings..
Avatar 6:09pm Listening Out There:

If David didn't play this Ukraine orchestra piece, I threatened to withhold my pledge to FMU... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm doctorjazz:

This is lovely (good company for completing paperwork)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm doctorjazz:

Haven't heard about today's hearings yet, any big news?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Phillippe Bastille:

Nothing that a teflon-coated billionaire can't shake off
Avatar 6:12pm David D:

Glad you like it, Doctorjazz - LOT, I didn't realize how much was riding on it!
Avatar 6:21pm northguineahills:

Fell asleep due to fatigue needed nap.

I know of an Ivanov composer, not sure if it's the same one).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm Phillippe Bastille:

Off to run errands. Thanks David, see ya everybody
Avatar 6:29pm David D:

Thanks, Phillippe - have a good evening!
Avatar 6:29pm coelacanth∅))):

tchau Phillippe

...and i'm off, back to work
Thanks David! take care y'all
Avatar 6:29pm David D:

Avatar 6:30pm David D:

Thanks, Coel, you too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Webhamster Henry:

I've been passively listening -- but -- Theremin break!
Avatar 6:42pm northguineahills:

Theremin, theremin, theremin. What about a therewoman, like the virtuoso Pamelia Stickney!
Avatar 6:44pm David D:

Hey, Henry - what's a break without a theremin after all?
Avatar 6:49pm northguineahills:

If I don't get back, thanks David!....
