Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm tim from champaign:

I'm fine with mouth/chewing sounds until they are amplified - like someone chewing on the other end of the phone or Station Manager Ken talking with his mouthful during readbacks.

Avatar 4:07pm Tony Banana Chow Mein:

Not surprising this level of sensitivity to sound would lead to a curiosity about the sounds made by plants!
Avatar 4:08pm thormagma:

Is there a term for what would be the opposite of misophonia? I find myself getting a perverse satisfaction from a lot of the agitating sounds mentioned.
Avatar 4:10pm βrian:

One has to give ruminants a break, on the other hand.
Avatar 4:12pm βrian:

Hot-air balloons are damn noisy, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Webhamster Henry:

I'm a big balloon as music fan. It's a great resonator and the squeaking and thumping noises are really good raw material - especially though a pitch shifter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Webhamster Henry:

Check out the balloon section of this website (full disclosure: one of mine)
  4:14pm andrewb:

few things can upset a child like a balloon popping or flying away

  4:23pm ronny:

love using the midi sprout...listen to your own plant...i make cassettes with these cultivating sounds...
  4:25pm Coleusound:

I know that sample! are you using a 4ms sts Carlo?
Avatar 4:25pm thormagma:

@chris - both of those words would apply to me! but I was thinking more along the lines of those who may get positive effects from ASMR. @coleusound - I'm still trying to figure out what I want to get out of electronic music/sample based noise, but I do play in a few deranged rock bands. bit.ly... bit.ly...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Ken From Hyde Park:

As a youngster, I managed to get a living housefly into a balloon, along with a bit of cheese for food. It survived several days inside that balloon. I should've submitted that as a science fair project. I forget if the fly died eventually or if I popped the balloon to let it free.

This is weird. I just don't get plant music. It's trash. I don't understand the words and it has no melody. Kidz these daze.
  5:15pm ?:

In my day, you could understand what the plants were saying.
  5:17pm Jamie:

I don't get the plant music either but feel free to enlighten me someone. The theremin music was lovely however
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm chresti:

I see plants dancing more than singing
Avatar 5:22pm SSS:

Seem to me that many, if not all kids have a misophonia period. In the vast majority of people it quickly passes (me, my kids, others I've spoken to). I think it is part of a developing consciousness, involving how odd eating, particularly meat can seem to a child. When it becomes an adult condition, that is truly weird, and fairly rare I think.
  5:22pm ?:

Plants can't dance to this. It has no beat.
Avatar 5:23pm SSS:

Boy, these fantastic shows sure are a distraction. Its' good to work from home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Ike:

This is really good.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Franco Twinkie:

That WAS the sound of Berkeley in 1972. That and barking dogs, finger cymbals, and someone loosing their mind and babbling on Telegraph Ave.

Plants on LSD?

I don't truss it. The CIA is trying to use plants as weapons.
Avatar 5:33pm SSS:

I love spaced out rambling thinking...I am well known in those parts.
  5:35pm ?:

Is this stuff supposed to make us feel better about tables and chairs?
  5:36pm ?:

Hey Mister Tree, listen to this before we cut you down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm dale:

of course plants have a survival instinct. that's why i feel bad about eating baby carrots and baby spinach.
  5:38pm ?:

I will tell you what, if you really care about the earth, we better make music for plastic, because plastic will still be here when the plants are all dead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Franco Twinkie:

Blackberries and basil will fix what is wrong.
Avatar 5:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm chresti:

aren't they suffering already, from being cut? you're ending their suffering @dale
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm dale:

the plastic microbeads from body wash has gotten into the streams and oceans and gets evaporated into the air and rain downs upon us. we probably drink them and they are coursing around in our veins as we speak.
