A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am Rich in Washington:

I remember a decade ago NASA had put the real-time audio of the moon launch communications online for the duration of what would've been the mission. It was fun. I think I had it on pretty much the whole time, at work, home, etc.
Avatar 11:15am v k:

in addition to the documentary being discussed on air...PBS (part of American Experience Series) has an amazing 6-hour documentary called "Chasing the Moon", which is currently available for streaming (very, very well done - highly recommend)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Webhamster Henry:

Apollo guidance computer specs:

2048 words of RAM. A "word" was 15 bits of data—therefore just under 2 bytes (16 bits) of data—and so the total RAM was just 3840 bytes.
36,864 words of read-only memory, equivalent to 69,120 bytes.

Maximum of about 85,000 CPU instructions executed per second.
