Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm steveo:

Avatar 3:24pm fred:

Good afternoon David, Ruth and listeners. It's been a while since I could last listen. A Lea Bertucci interview is a perfect occasion to break that bad streak
Avatar 3:26pm david w:

Hey, Fred. Glad to have you around for this one!
Avatar 3:29pm fred:

And I heard that she'll playing at a church right next to where I work in September
Avatar 3:30pm geezerette:

Aural equivalent to interference colors in a way. Beautiful, but beyond that, compelling.
Avatar 3:30pm david w:

I'll tell her to look for you, Fred, you've met before, yes?
Avatar 3:32pm david w:

Yes, geez! Interference tones are part of the Lea process!
Avatar 3:32pm geezerette:

Her music would sound wonderful in a church!
Avatar 3:36pm fred:

Yeah, we talked a little at a couple of her shows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm doctorjazz:

Avatar 3:49pm david w:

ngh! she's kinda here kinda there...
Avatar 3:50pm david w:

you've morphed into pure sound steveo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Webhamster Henry:

As I've mentioned before, she shot an improv music video with Tomeka Reid last year in the Widow Jane Mine (I'm the President of the board of the not for profit that runs it).
Avatar 3:52pm david w:

Henry, that is super cool. Lea and I talked about it but she doesn't know the status of the project. Up to the videographer.
Avatar 3:53pm coelacanth∅:

hello david, ridgies
Avatar 3:54pm david w:

Hello coel of the mangled tape brigade.
Avatar 3:54pm northguineahills:

I've never seen Coil spew cartoonish blood and wear comic costumes like Gwar ;p
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm Webhamster Henry:

There was a Poetry Band Microfest in there last Saturday, which was great despite / because of a thunderstorm. Iva Bittová, no stranger to WFMU, did a great piece, and Carrie Bradley-Neves wore a WFMU t-shirt through the show.
Avatar 3:55pm coelacanth∅:

ha -that took me a few seconds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Webhamster Henry:

I like the idea of interview and guest DJing!
Avatar 3:59pm northguineahills:

@david: I'm neither here or there....
Avatar 3:59pm david w:

Henry, I find folks really put extra extra into selecting playlists when you invite them on the radio. Very satisfying.
Avatar 4:01pm northguineahills:

Is Caroliner Rainbow related to Caroliner?
Avatar 4:02pm david w:

Yes, same but some personnel alternates.
Avatar 4:03pm david w:

And some philosphical adjustments.
Avatar 4:06pm geezerette:

Love the way her imagination works.
Avatar 4:10pm northguineahills:

Should I make tempura stuffed poblano peppers (I need to use them up from my garden as well, and I'm on a tempura streak). Not sure whether to keep it vegan or at queso de Oaxaca.
Avatar 4:12pm david w:

Queso I vote queso!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm steveo:

if you eat eggs, you could go with tempera instead?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm ifny:

@northguineahills You should definitely make tempura peppers. There is not a single doubt in my mind.
Avatar 4:14pm david w:

ifny! what's chopping over there?
Avatar 4:18pm northguineahills:

I'm not vegan, but usually cook vegan, or veggie, (occasionally w/ dairy and eggs). I never cook meat, but I'll eat it.
Avatar 4:18pm Brian in UK:

Hello David.
Avatar 4:19pm northguineahills:

I too, am unfamiliar w/ Dickie Landry....
Avatar 4:20pm david w:

Hello, Brian. Pleased to have you along.
Avatar 4:22pm Brian in UK:

Feels like that time in Summer when twlight falls and then can take an age before night descends.
Avatar 4:24pm david w:

Landry, he was in the thick of it before abandoning NYC for New Orleans. Cohort of Philip Glass and Moondog and much more. But still active on many fronts both musical and visual!
Avatar 4:24pm coelacanth∅:

ngh (@4.18) that's pretty much how i am with dairy, bread, and coffee. i'll eat it out (and i eat out at least a few times/week) but i don't keep those things in the house.
i do cook fish at home though, and eggs when i'm at my sister's.
Avatar 4:24pm coelacanth∅:

...now i'm hungry. thanks.
Avatar 4:25pm northguineahills:

I actually have this Satie mobilier de musique…..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm chresti:

I'm the same, ngh, I don't cook meat, but I'll eat it.
4:26pm Dave In St Albans UK:

A little bit of Satie goes a long long way for me. Wonderful to hear anytime.
Avatar 4:26pm david w:

Thanks, Dave. Satie always pleases me too.
Avatar 4:26pm geezerette:

Funny, I love Satie but not Phillip Glass.
Avatar 4:27pm coelacanth∅:

(i cooked beef for a dog i was watching. the only time)
Avatar 4:29pm coelacanth∅:

hey it's good to have a name for that! "glissandi". i have much of that because i use 8-track tapes for looping.
Avatar 4:31pm david w:

Speaking of mangled tapes and eating! My ancient DAT player ate a tape today. Whoop indeed!
Avatar 4:33pm coelacanth∅:

bummer. the first time ever?
Avatar 4:34pm david w:

No coel, I wish. Unending battles...
Avatar 4:36pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar 4:49pm coelacanth∅:
