  9:20am dan:

You should play Apu's rendition of this song just before he sprayed Bart with the hose at Homer's insistence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am Greg from ZONE 5:

Morning, Roger & Amanda!
May I spray you with the hose in a playful fashion?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am Amanda:

Still in recovery from Nat'l Donut Day over here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

That drawing really captures the essence of the band. Bunny!

  9:38am Daybreak, and the Music:

We also remembered national doughnut day late at night once we got back from walking around town. No doughnuts in the house either. Next time Rodger...next time...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am melinda:

I love this Laura Veirs. Nice little animated video on the Y-tube.
  9:43am GListener MW:

if this is a dog theme we're sliding into, any chance of some Skinny Puppy? ^_^
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Honk if you love cheeses! HONK!!!
  9:44am dan:

"It's not like any cheese I've ever had".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Amanda:

Ha, nice suggestion MW but we are already onto cheese as you can tell!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Webhamster Henry:

This Cheese Man is really well produced! Norman Luboff !
  9:47am GListener MW:

My dad always referred to cheese on toast as "Cheesethings". That word is now normalized in my vocabulary forever
Avatar 9:48am Roberto:

My only encounter with bleu cheese was when I was about 12 years old and my dad sneaked it into the middle of a burger. I took a bite into the cheese and was like...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Ken From Hyde Park:

Wallace almost forgot to bring the crackers on his trip to the moon with Gromit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Cheese without crackers is a desperate situation, indeed.
  9:53am dan:

I love Bleu Cheese. Goes great on burgers and salads.
  9:55am L W Rhino:

Humpty Dumpty was pushed.
Swag For Life Member 9:55am tadpoles:

Wallace & Gromit saved Wensleydale Cheese from near bankruptcy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

This was my introduction to Blossom Dearie when i was a kid. I love her!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am melinda:

One of my favorite schoolhouse rocks
  10:00am Bic Lighter :

The disturbing thing about kid's music is that it's made by odd adults who want your kids to like them...is that what we're not talking about here!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01am Webhamster Henry:

Yeah! Playing one of my requests!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Webhamster Henry:

There's also Owada's great counting songs that used to be WFMU staples.
  10:02am dan:

@Bic Lighter
Or they're made by people that want to entertain children.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Amanda:

I feel like it's made by cool adults whose sensibilities appeal to a wide variety of people. The best kids' music is extremely suitable for adults too, and vice versa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Bic Lighter: As an odd adult who entertains children, and would be delighted of they liked me, in my experience, the troubles have always ended up being with the adults trying to pass for "normal" a little too hard.
  10:05am Bic Lighter :

I guess you could look at kid's music that way but it's much less disturbing!
  10:05am dan:

Back when SNL was funny, before it became the mess it is today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am Ken From Hyde Park:

I liked the counting segment on the early Sesame Streets, where the chef with a tray of tarts, pies, cakes, etc. would come out to a fanfare and then trip and things would go flying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am Amanda:

Dana Carvey rules
  10:06am Bic Lighter:

Anyway, never mind this show is entertaining this middle aged child!
  10:07am SeanG:

he really does! :-D
  10:08am Nate K:

Wow, “Choppin’ Broccoli” holds up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am Webhamster Henry:

Call any vegetable, and the vegetable will respond to you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

This is a good song to "eat to the beat"
  10:10am L W Rhino:

Is succotash considered a vegetable???
  10:10am dan:

Here's hoping that Brian Wilson gets better. Heard about his mental health issues.
  10:11am L W Rhino:

The "Beet" Boys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Have you ever seen that documentary about when Brian finally did "Smile?" It is so good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11am listener 126464:

i enjoy a nice glass of beer after the exercise and dance segment
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am melinda:

@Ken that one always disturbed me, I hated to see all the pastries ruined.
Avatar 10:14am Roberto:

That was more than 25 years ago. Dana Carvey joined the cast of SNL in 1986.
  10:16am dan:

"Hi Frozen Body"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am listener 126464:

Muppet Movie in theaters for 2 days next month for 40th anniversary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Amanda:

Awesommmme thank you for the reminder!
Avatar 10:22am Roberto:

My daughter and I are still working our way through the original Muppet Show on DVD. We're up to the beginning of Season 3. I've been surprised at how little I remember from when I watched as a kid.
Avatar 10:26am Roberto:

Nicole was great on 7SD this week. Anyone who can handle those two at her age is going to go far in life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am Amanda:

Best Muppet Show performance? Maybe Elton John?

We lovvve Nicole and it is so amazing to hear her on the air more!
  10:28am Amalya:

Hi Nicole!!
Avatar 10:29am Roberto:

The Elton John performance was indeed great. I found Cloris Leachman surprisingly multi-talented.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Debbie Harry on the Muppet Show was so great!
Avatar 10:30am Roberto:

And Judy Collins made me swoon :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am listener 126464:

the Nicole/In Real Life mashup that followed 7SD last week was semi-surreal
Avatar 10:34am Roberto:

It's also a lot of fun trolling my daughter whenever some show biz legend she's never heard of appears on the show and I say to her, don't you know who that is??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Round, nonbinary folx!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Sean d:

Snip snip snip!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38am Amanda:

But please don't run with the Scissor Man.
  10:38am SeanG:

i love XTC
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40am Amanda:

The Seans are in agreement!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

listener 126464: Thanks for the tip about The Muppet Movie! Just got my tix!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am listener 126464:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am Webhamster Henry:

Harry Belafonte on The Muppet Show was good too! They made African mask muppets!
Avatar 10:45am Roberto:

I just asked my daughter and she doesn't want to bother seeing it in a theater. Oh well. In any case, nothing will compare to seeing it in a theater for the first time in 1979 and the moment Kermit appeared on a bike. The entire theater immediately lost it. (Apologies for the spoiler alert)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Lauren! Flaming Fire! One of my favorite artists and bands of all time. Yay!
Avatar 10:48am Roberto:

Oops I meant to say, sorry for the lack of a spoiler alert.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

My sweetie had never seen The Muppet Movie (everyone says he is a living Muppet), so we watched it at home, but so much is lost of the rich splendor. I will take him to see it on the big screen for his birthday this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am listener 126464:

Mr. Eddie's father!
  10:50am dan:

Is there anything more happy than Harry Nilsson?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Nilsson can turn on a dime from poignant to happy and then back again.
  10:50am L W Rhino:

Me and my Arrow will listen next week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am melinda:

@Roberto that was a special time. I had forgotten about Kermit on the bike.
Avatar 10:52am Roberto:

The only problem with the bike scene was they played their highest card in the first 15 minutes of the movie. I felt everything after that was kind of a let-down.
  10:54am L W Rhino:

One more time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am listener 126464:

i am now ready to face the world
  10:55am dan:

The Ice Cream Man is a sign that summer is around the corner.
  10:56am L W Rhino:

Mr. Softie is coming to your block real soon.
  10:57am Andrew in Etobicoke:

Thanks Amanda and Roger.
Awesome show, as always.
See you next week.
  10:57am dan:

I'm always sad when the show is nearing the end. Can't wait until next week for The Point.
