Hello all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:01pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:01pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Otis!
Hi Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:02pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Mr Recent Birthday Boy :-)
Did you have a fun day?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ween! My goodness ... takes me back :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:04pm Otis Fodder:

It was sweet, yea, thanks! The fun day turned into a couple of days, paying hommage to the half-century with an abundance of food, booze and pals.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:05pm Otis Fodder:

The Autoroute image today is a highway in Quebec. This is the 30th show. I counted all by my myself!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

We're seven months old on the 26th :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:07pm joe:

I was lucky enough to see Ween play one of their first NYC shows and I think it might have been one of their first shows outside of the Trenton NJ area.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:08pm Rich in Washington:

Gonna drive down the street to pick up a Pakistani lamb biryani, but will be listening on my mo-bile deevice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:08pm Otis Fodder:

Cool Joe! Caught them in 2000 in Seattle and 2007 in Toronto. The White Pepper 2000 show in Seattle was killer. They played PF Echoes in full at the end.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:08pm Mr Fab:

Yo O!
Tipsy need to record a LOT more often.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:08pm joe:

Oh my god I just looked up the date of that show and it was almost 30 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Tipsy :-) The lead chap was on EML wasn't he? I seem to remember him posting a few times and being a lovely person :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:09pm Otis Fodder:

Ween 30 years ago, that's so cool. That's like God Ween Satan/Pod period.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:10pm Mr Fab:

I know that feeling joe, seems to happen more and more lately. it all seems like, well, not 'yesterday.' But not 30 frikken years ago!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:10pm chresti:

Hello Otis and friendly persuaders
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:11pm recordrouletteclub:

Smokin' Cigarettes and watchin' Captain Kangaroo!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:11pm joe:

Yeah they were opening for the Dead Milkmen at Wetlands. If you are courious turns out the show is on Youtube. I'll post a link on the FB board.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:11pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I refuse, point blank, to believe that ANY of this happened earlier than about five years ago tops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:11pm Otis Fodder:

I just picked up LL Cool J "Bigger and Deffer" on vinyl. 32 years ago?!?!? Whaaaaa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:12pm Otis Fodder:

@GG - You are correct. It's all 5 years ago. Sometimes 6, but mostly 5. There with ya.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:13pm joe:

Everything is just 5 years ago. I like that.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:13pm recordrouletteclub:

Otis! That LL Cool J LP has a cool track at the end with some Doo-Wop samples on it!! Neat LP.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:13pm Mr Fab:

yeah, the line about Capt Kangaroo made me like "Flowers on the Wall" when I was but a wee lad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:14pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I watched some Captain kangaroo when I was small (five years ago ...) but my main jam was The Friendly Giant. Possibly solely a Canadian or PNW thing but I loved him. Such a gentle show :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:14pm chresti:

And everything that happened 5 years ago was 2 years ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@chresti - high five! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:16pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I used to code to Kraftwerk - fitted the proper headspace :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:17pm Otis Fodder:

Oh, Kraftwerk to work by. Perfect example. I'm playing a song today. ;)
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:17pm Mr Fab:

Well, it's weird because 30 years ago the culture wasn't much different than it is today. But look how the culture changed from 1950 to 1980. Head-spinning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:18pm chresti:

I watched Captain Kangaroo, never while smoking cigarettes.
GG :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:18pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Oh God - 1950 and 1980 are like two different universes. I mean ... 1963 and 1967 are like two universes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:19pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Yes we do!!! We all love this! Keep talking! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:21pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

My partner just shouted out: "UNDERPASS! WUNDERBAR!" lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:22pm Otis Fodder:

The Neue Deutsche Welle!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I can't really play any Klaus Nomi on any of my shows - and I adore Klaus Nomi! - could I request a track from him, lovely Otis? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:26pm Otis Fodder:

Oh god, yes. I love Klaus. Fire away. Ha, I probably have it here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The Nomi Song :-)
We have the hockey on in the background on mute and your music is lining up with it perfectly :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:30pm Otis Fodder:

@GG - You got it! First album, have it here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

:-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:43pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Leonard sounds a little Burl Ives-ish here. I like that :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:44pm Otis Fodder:

His ballads are great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:46pm joe:

Wow it's the Disneyland Singers doing songs from a CTW show. This is so ahead of it's time in regards to crossover. Totally mind blown.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:47pm Webhamster Henry:

The Short Circus did the original! I'm sure you all have the Electric Company Album, because of the Tom Lehrer Songs on it.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:47pm Martinibomb:

I had that record too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:47pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

My daughter just suggested "Up, Up, and Away" :-) I have raised her well ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:48pm joe:

@webhamster henry would you think less of me if I said I do not.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:49pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I discovered Tom Lehrer thanks to The Electric Company.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:49pm Martinibomb:

I think friendly giant was canadian only I don't remember it here but big captain kangaroo fan was I
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:49pm Webhamster Henry:

We Lehrer acolytes were starved for material until the Rhino collection and the Internet. But that record is great anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

<3 Tom Lehrer <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:50pm chresti:

Love Electric Co
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:53pm joe:

I had an epiphany about 8 years ago about how much I love in music, film art etc has a seed in Sesame Street.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:53pm Martinibomb:

@Otis when that CQ album came out I called Norton and they sent me a bunch of swag/free stuff and I threw a big Italian/mario bava party at a venue downtow. I plastered the whole placein white plastic and then put up black lights every where .. totally freaky best event I ever did
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:53pm chresti:

Le Tigre does mind your own business
  Fri. 5/17/19 3:53pm RiW:

mind Your own business was by Chicks on Speed, I believe
  Fri. 5/17/19 3:54pm RiW:

pigface also covered it around 2000
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:54pm Martinibomb:

I thought mind yoru own business was Delta 5?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:54pm Otis Fodder:

Did Chicks on Speed do it too? Cool. Might be later. Original was 1979 by Delta 5.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:55pm Martinibomb:

Delta 5 in 1979 with Mind your own business great song!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:55pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - Cool on that CQ party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:55pm joe:

@Martinibomb that's the version I'm familier with until the Pigface cover
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:56pm joe:

The Delta 5 version that is
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:56pm Martinibomb:

@Joe I actually have not heard the pigface cover so I gotta go listen to that now
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 3:57pm Otis Fodder:

Gonna check out the Pigface cover too, thanks Joe!
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:57pm Martinibomb:

My wife only heard the Delta 5 a year ago and she's completely obsessed with that song. It's possibly her favorite song of all time.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:58pm Martinibomb:

Someone at her work asked her what her favorite kind of music is and she said, "Post-punk" and they were like, "Whats that? never heard of it." hah
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 3:59pm Martinibomb:

going for my daily walk gotcha in headphone OF
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:01pm Otis Fodder:

See ya MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:02pm chresti:

Oops- Chicks on Speed (thought it was Le Tigre, same thing, just about) around late nineties, I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:02pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

YES!!! I was over the other side of the room and shouted "Is that R Dean Taylor?!" Happy face.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:03pm Otis Fodder:

@christi - Le Tigre's first album is so good. Yea, both bands are tops.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:03pm Otis Fodder:

@GG - YES! Amazing album that can still be had for like 2 bucks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:03pm Rich in Washington:

Delta 5! Of course. It was Chicks on Speed who guested on their version on a Pigface album. I am all mixed up. That hot biryani scrambled my brainpan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:04pm chresti:

I love "Get off the internet"
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:04pm Otis Fodder:

chresti, yes!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Now THIS is a blast from the past. Come Saturday Morning :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:06pm chresti:

I think Mark Hurst should play that on his show, Techtonic
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:07pm chresti:

@Otis
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:07pm Rich in Washington:

chresti: I was just this second reading an amusing tweet from Mark!
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:09pm Mr Fab:

MB, rather than "post-punk" she could say New Wave. But then they'd think she means stuff like Duran Duran. Or "alternative." But then they think she's into grunge...
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:09pm Mr Fab:

Weird hearing Chet Baker sing in a non-jazz context
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:16pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I need to look out for the CQ soundtrack after hearing these tracks - gorgeous :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:23pm joe:

I read an article years ago about the top 50 "Dirtiest" album covers of all time. I think the Ohio Players has 9 on there LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@joe - there's an also an interview somewhere with the model about the whole process and how she ended up glued solid for hours! Apparently the honey and the hot studio lights created a basic solid toffee. They spent something like three very careful hours ungluing her so as not to damage her skin. Ouch! Astounding cover image there. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:25pm Rich in Washington:

The Ohio Players, Love Rollercoaster urban legend scared me as a little kid, because they kept playing the song on the radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:27pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - not heard that! Do tell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:27pm joe:

You know I've never check I wonder if it was the same photographer on all those albums becuase whom ever it was they had a really lighting eye.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:28pm joe:

@Rich in Washington. I remember the first time I heard that I remember thinking it was so weird was assoicated with the Ohio Players.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:30pm Rich in Washington:

That scream was some poor girl being murdered in the studio! Not just some stock recording of roller coaster riders after all! My cousin's best friend's teacher's pastor said it and everything, so it HAS to be true!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:30pm Otis Fodder:

Oh Rich, I don't know about this urban legend. Gotta look it up. Early to mid 70s Ohio Players are so good. Pleasure with Funky Worm alone, my god.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:30pm joe:

I would love to see a Rock & Roll Babylon book of some sort. It would have to be very low key though as you would get sued to hell and back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:30pm Kat in Chicago:

Duane on the main stream plays a Psychemagik rework of David Crosby's "Orleans", called "Valley of Paradise," that is just gorgeous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:32pm Rich in Washington:

I just remember being horrified that they kept playing it on the radio. No doubt my fears were stoked by my older siblings who took delight in screwing with each other's heads.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:32pm Otis Fodder:

Oh wow, thanks Kat. I'll check out Duane's archives. I listen to Duane and Irwin in Archives a bunch catching up on that Wed action.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:34pm Rich in Washington:

I love this LP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:36pm Kat in Chicago:

here ya go, Otis psychemagik.bandcamp.com... I listen to Duane and Irwin live when work isn't too obnoxious. Sheena archives are often my doing-house-stuff-on-the-weekends soundtrack, but I'm off work today. Oh good lord this is an excessive version of "Time of the Season"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:36pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm at my usual halfway point so going to say goodnight to all you lovely people - catching up with the rest of Fun Friday tomorrow when I do some cooking. Thank you Otis!! You've set such a fabulous mellow groove today :-) Talk to you all later! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:37pm Otis Fodder:

Bye Georgy, Happy weekend to you and the family!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:37pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks Kat!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:37pm Kat in Chicago:

bye Georgy! I've been cooking to the Flange and Frigate lately :)
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:38pm Mr Fab:

'Switched-On Rock' and 'Moog Power'; - albums I bought used for no more than $2-3, then probly sold cuz I couldn't resist the siren song of wildly inflated records prices of recent eyars
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:38pm Otis Fodder:

I found an image of Hugo's Moog Power on Discogs with that funny sticker, "DRASTICALLY REDUCED TO 72P"!

I'm trying to imagine people squaredancing to this
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:42pm Webhamster Henry:

All disco does well as square dancing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:42pm joe:

Is the flip the Stereo version :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:42pm Otis Fodder:

I will go square dancing with anyone who can find a barn that is doing THIS!
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:43pm Martinibomb:

where I grew up the first kind of dancing I saw was square dancing and I thought that's how everyone on the planet dances? okay then.. hahah
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:43pm Otis Fodder:

Noooo, the other side is intstrumental. Sigh, without calls. You can do your own calling/practicing for that big 2-step night!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:43pm Rich in Washington:

WOW!
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:43pm Martinibomb:

but honestly square dancing is pretty fun so I know why people get into it. hah
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:43pm joe:

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:43pm Rich in Washington:

Nighty night, GeorgyGirl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:44pm Webhamster Henry:

Similar genre-jumping: I was pleased to discover that the Wollman skating rink in NYC played hip hop to skate to. I wonder if they still do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:45pm Otis Fodder:

And like the barn.... I will go roller skating if there is a rink playing Guy Lafleur. Maybe I should DJ a rink again (my first DJ gig, age 16).
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:46pm Martinibomb:

Oh I get to hang out with Devon from Morricone island this Sunday. Any interest in meeting up with us Rich?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:48pm joe:

I would love to DJ Roller Skating rink. Totally mix the decades.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:48pm joe:

Organ Music into Da La Soul. That would be fun
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:48pm Otis Fodder:

I would totally do that now. Back in 1985, it was all stuff like Lisa Lisa Cult Jam and Ready for the World. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:49pm Rich in Washington:

Oh, that's cool! Let me see what I've got going on. We're preparing for something on Memorial Day but maybe I can get away.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:49pm Martinibomb:

I got to Dj a roller skating rink a comple times and loved it! Super fun. I did the thing I loved when I was a kid the "Stop Game" where the Dj stops the record and anybody left moving has to clear the rink. Love that game
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:49pm Rich in Washington:

PM me the deets. Maybe I'll try to venture down off the mountain Sunday.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:49pm Mr Fab:

That "I Will Survive" was amazing, even if I am still traumatized by having to square dance with my class mates in grade school who were absolutely disgusted with the idea of having to actually touch me. Having said that, I do prize my square-dance "Tiny Bubbles" record.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:50pm Martinibomb:

I remember being super obsessed with Olivia Newton's Queen of Hearts back when I was 7 and skating rink was really going off
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:50pm Otis Fodder:

Square Dance Tiny Bubbles?!? No way, that rules!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:50pm Rich in Washington:

I've always wanted to DJ something unusual, like a planetarium, a nursing home, someone's funeral.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:51pm Martinibomb:

@Rich I'll text you on sunday or when I know.. see where you are.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:51pm Otis Fodder:

Rich - Me too, would love to all of those.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:51pm Rich in Washington:

There aren't a lot of funeral DJs. I think it's an untapped, growing market.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:51pm joe:

Funeral/Wake DJ's are becoming a niche market.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:51pm Martinibomb:

hmm that tiny bubbles square dance might need a remix
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:52pm Rich in Washington:

Love Devin's show. Always cool to meet wfmu'rs in the flesh.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:52pm Martinibomb:

It's still hard for me to believe as much as i was into synths as a kid that I never heard Kraftwerk until the early 90s
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:52pm Rich in Washington:

I literally almost just pulled this single out to play this week, then something else came up!
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:52pm Mr Fab:

ha, ok, i should digitize it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:53pm joe:

spiritintheskyentertainments.co.uk
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:53pm Martinibomb:

Could you buy Kraftwerk in Musicland in the mall?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:53pm Webhamster Henry:

Kraftwerk is also good for square dancing. Or square wave dancing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:53pm Otis Fodder:

Electric Cafe was my intro when it was released and Numbers brought me in heavy, electro breakdance boombox gem.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:54pm Martinibomb:

now I want to start a kraftwerk square dance cover band called the square waves omfg you're a genius henry
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:54pm Otis Fodder:

I will pay good money to see that show and hit up the merch table.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:54pm Kat in Chicago:

Brilliant!
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:54pm Mr Fab:

Kraftwerk were all over KROQ when "Computer World " came out. When they'd play LA it was in huge venues like the hollywood Bowl. Living here def gave me a skewed perspective
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:55pm Rich in Washington:

Some friend in High School gave me an 8-track of Autobahn (that his dad no longer wanted) because I told him I had an 8 track player and I played that tape to death. I still expect that ka-THUNK, switching tracks sound right in the middle of the title track when I listen to it to this day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:56pm Rich in Washington:

I remember seeing Kraftwerk LPs in Musicland as a teenager but they were expensive imports which NEVER went on sale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:56pm Webhamster Henry:

Thank you. I play Computer Love on my Autoharp a lot.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:56pm Martinibomb:

yeah it's hard for me to imagine a world without kraftwerk now. I mean they might be my fave band or very close. but for the first 20 years of my life I never got to hear them.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:57pm Martinibomb:

When I first moved to Portland and had a graveyard job this coworker from Chicago who was really into music was like, "You've never heard of Kraftwerk?" And totally took pity on me.. schooled me on all that stuff and beyond
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:57pm joe:

My wife came into my office to speak to me and is now standing in the door way dancing
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:58pm Rich in Washington:

I love Computer World. I know there's this Kraut snobbery thing that tends to look down on their 70s, Emil Schult inspired era, but I love it.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:58pm Martinibomb:

Oh wow didn't realize this was the beach boys! is this a Brian Track?
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 4:59pm Martinibomb:

oh it is Brian. Never heard this before thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:59pm Rich in Washington:

If you can find it, that Kraftwerk and the Electronic Revolution documentary is quite good. Really long, but very good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 4:59pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - Just looked it up: ""Here Comes the Night" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was originally released on their 1967 album, Wild Honey. In 1979, the song was re-recorded and released on their 1979 album, L.A. (Light Album), as a disco song lasting nearly eleven minutes."
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:01pm Don-O:

Beach Boys Do Disco....and Disco Bites Back....hard!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:01pm Otis Fodder:

I just wish there was a disco 12" version of SMART GIRLS. ;)
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:01pm Martinibomb:

aaah okay. I like hearing him use all the synthy stuff it's fun
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:01pm grantbob:

I like the monkeys.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:02pm Martinibomb:

interesting how he's just voicing one note of the chord with the vocal harmony part
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:02pm Martinibomb:

It's kind of a minimal techno version of the original
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:03pm Don-O:

I'm guessing Mike Love is aching to do this version on tour....
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:04pm Don-O:

Well, this is the instrumental version, so you don't have to suffer along with Brian.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:08pm Martinibomb:

Why am I finding my self singing along to this song?
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:09pm Otis Fodder:

Be careful MB... next thing someone is handing out the kool-aid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:12pm chresti:

MB I was too- donkey, donkey! I thought he was sayinng
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:14pm Otis Fodder:

Donkey, donkey, I am a big donkey.. la la la la, donkey. Sounds right to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:15pm chresti:

Haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:16pm Webhamster Henry:

Spiegel said: Anna Roberts-Gevalt and friends will be playing a version of my Appalachian Grove for live banjo and other instruments, Saturday 4/20/2019 at Cafe Too in London. I wonder how that went?
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:22pm Martinibomb:

Haven't heard this track in awhile forgot how much I love it
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:22pm Martinibomb:

this so good.. soo good kills me

Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:48pm Don-O:

Oh, I like the Tiki Beats already!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:48pm Rich in Washington:

My wife cracks up when I play those Thai Dai comps and a song is a virtual cover of a Western hit song.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:48pm grantbob:

Approved.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:48pm Martinibomb:

Thanks, Otis! Thanks, Otis! Thanks, Otis! Thanks, Otis!

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:52pm Otis Fodder:

MB - Found out about New Bang through the eternal-cool PimpDaddySupreme.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:52pm Martinibomb:

this is more influenced by contemporary hip hop from the way the beats are programmed so that's funny to me as someone who always goes at it from the late80s/90s side
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:53pm Otis Fodder:

Totally, I catch that. It's a 'fresh' perspective.
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:54pm Martinibomb:

Exactly! It is totally
Avatar Fri. 5/17/19 5:54pm Mr Fab:

Ah yes, I remember PimpDaddySupreme well from th ol' GYBO mashup dayz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 5/17/19 5:55pm Rich in Washington:
