Hello fellow Fabio fans

Fabio, you have some stiff competition today, the NY Yankees opener! 6-2 Yanks!

Hot damn been checking the scores today

Good Afternoon, Fabio and everyone
@ V Priceless -- yes, same here
damn, still crushed over Jonas Mekas, and all these other horrible losses

Avatar 3:13pm V Priceless:

@ slug - 2019 shaping up to be another 2016 - ugh
  3:14pm John from Florham Park:

@Fabio the music list is not updating
  3:14pm John from Florham Park:

@chersti afternoon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm The Oscar:

Scott Walker really was the ultimate WFMU artist, wasn't he? There aren't many performers who can fit seamlessly into both Strength Through Failure and Joe McGasko's first half-hour.
  3:15pm chresti:

RIP Rankin Rodger
  3:16pm John from Florham Park:

@TO or any other show for that matter
Avatar 3:17pm northguineahills:

I think Sun Ra is the most ubiquitous artist that nearly every dj has played.
Avatar 3:18pm northguineahills:

Don't say that John, 2016 was the worst year for me, and now this one has the possibility of surpassing that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Cmurtha:

I mean, we are in the worst time line, but, but, positive attitudes are important, and 2019 may turn the ship around,
Avatar 3:21pm dale:

oh - it's while PLUCKing feathers from a swan song.....
Avatar 3:22pm northguineahills:

I need this Scott Walker/O'Malley album!

I thought Ricardo Montalbán sang the Curare song ...
  3:26pm John from Florham Park:

@NGH what are you talking about????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm The Oscar:

The first time I heard this the donkey straight up scared the shit out of me. One of the few times I've encountered a jump-scare in a song.
Avatar 3:27pm northguineahills:

@John: 2016 sucked for me (for a plethora of reasons), and the world generally. 2019 has started to go down the same path....
Avatar 3:28pm dale:

thank god for gilligans island. i never would know what curare is otherwise.
  3:28pm John from Florham Park:

@NGH what the hell did I say to set you off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Cmurtha:

@Oscar, I've not gotten a song jump scare yet, but I have a freind who was jump scared really bad by the pig sounds in "All Pigs Must Die" Though that whole album spooked him beyond the scare.
Avatar 3:29pm slugluv1313:

@ V Priceless -- right?
i mean, we ALL gotta go sometime -- and there are always going to be "negatives" -- but all of this just feels so incredibly oppressive
(and this coming from someone who is constantly working to do something positive/preventative/healing about all the horrible crap out there!)
as "depressing" as some of Scott Walker's music can be -- it always feels "uplifting" somehow
Avatar 3:30pm slugluv1313:

@ NGH -- and it is only April! arghhhhhh!
not to get all New-Age-y-Hippie-Dippy but sending POSITIVE HEALING ENERGY out there ANYWAY
Avatar 3:31pm northguineahills:

@John: My inability to process reading comprehension, it was for V Priceless above your comment at 3:14

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

You don't hear the term "Sexpot" that much anymore, do you?
  3:40pm Polyus:

By coincidence I watched Vox Lux the night before the news of his passing. His score was about the only decent part.
Avatar 3:42pm coelacanth∅:

sexpots are a dying breed.
repression is fashionable now.
  3:47pm Tony:

I thought Vox Lux got good reviews when it came out? Interesting to hear that it wasn't good. i guess I won't bother trying to see it then.
Avatar 3:49pm chocolate monk:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm The Oscar:

I remember hearing mixed things about Vox Lux. Which honestly made me want to see it more-- I'm always intrigued by divisive movies, and the prospect of a SW score is still pretty enticing-- but then I never got around to it.
Avatar 3:50pm northguineahills:

@coel: I'm more of the fan of ye ole Sex Cauldron (a shame they shut it down)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Carmichael:

Heya Fabs and Failures. I knew you'd have a major Scott fest brewing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm The Oscar:

"Sexpot" always seemed kind of unpleasant to me. Like something out of a Cronenberg film.
  3:53pm Tony:

Also, thanks to Fabio for making me familiar with SW's music in the first place, from listening to the show back in the 90s.
Avatar 3:54pm V Priceless:

kinda Cousin It-like, this
  3:55pm Re Port:

I think the kids call it 420 nowadays instead of sexpot.

Avatar 4:15pm chocolate monk:

i hope Fabio aint gonna be modest and will fess up to the fact that he supplied some vocals to the first excerpt from 'Life Is But A Smear'

@VP never know what you will here on any radio show on here
  5:01pm Dave from Brooklyn:

@Carmichael,Spamalot was great. Michael Palin has kept busy with some travel shows. And The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus is a Terry Gilliam masterpiece.
Avatar 5:01pm V Priceless:

@ John - haha - was just joking because something sounded like variation of 'Baba O'Riley' there for a sec....

@ NGH -- wonderful to hear that! and it totally makes sense, being around growing things :)
(i think it was the same for my Dad -- after a long stressful day or week, it was actually relaxing for him to "work" in our garden -- and one of the few things we actually bonded over)
SO GLAD to hear that your wife got a part-time gig!
and agreed! WFMU definitely helps to keep me sane and "grounded" too -- PERFECT *self-care* :)

Got Fabio confused with Yanni there DJ when I saw yer name, then found a video with Fabio (the model) climbing off a roller coaster after a goose hit him in the face during his ride
  5:35pm Helpful Internet Denizen:

My Death is also a Jacques Brel song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Carmichael:

Walker interpreted many of Brel's songs.
  5:36pm David in London:

Scott lived in Chiswick in West London. You used to be able to see him cycling around from time to time. No longer *sob*
Avatar 5:36pm herb.nyc:

Scott said word Chinaman. Me and my 1billion+ cousins are a little annoyed. But you RIP, Scott.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm common:

Just going to go weep some more now
  5:42pm David in London:

Climate of Hunter was the first one I ever bought, and it's interesting that it gets missed out repeatedly due to its weird and unplaceable 'in between' status. Sleepwalkers Woman is one of his finest ever tracks, though, IMHO.

  5:53pm David in London:

@carmichael, Tilt is probably my favourite album of all time, but I love Climate of... just because it gets so overlooked due to its 80s production, Mark Knofpler etc but it's still classic Scott canon any which way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Carmichael:

Wow, Bob Gaudio!
Avatar 5:56pm V Priceless:

thanx for this, Fab
Avatar 5:56pm Undead83:

Only great songs
  5:56pm David in London:

My father in law was a real face on the Sixties counter-culture scene in London (pen pal with Lennon, organiser of 'happenings' etc), and to them The Walker Brothers were beneath contempt as 'Californian pretty boy pop stars'. Flash forward decades and I play him The Drift blind in the kitchen one day and say 'Who do you think this is?' When I told him his jaw literally hit the floor. It was absolutely priceless.
  5:59pm Kathryn in Melbourne:

Love the walker brothers my anthem for the day
  5:59pm P-90:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Ken From Hyde Park:
